Hi! I'm Mafe and I'm from Colombia. After living in many different places, I have settled down in Spain (at least for a while). I love traveling, history, cultures and photography. And I am always happy to learn new things from my students as I help them practice conversation about their favorite topics.

Ich als Lehrkraft

I have been teaching Spanish for 7 years and I love it. It makes me very happy to see students that didn't know any Spanish when they first started and are now speaking with confidence and are able to hold conversations in Spanish.

Meine Stunden und mein Unterrichtsstil

I encourage active learning rather than passive learning, which means that I help my students think and express themselves and their ideas in Spanish from the very beginning. If the student knows enough Spanish to hold conversations, I'll help them practice talking about different subjects. I'll propose a topic and then ask questions related to it that forces them to think and express ideas in Spanish. If the student is new to Spanish I'll explain some concepts first, then we do exercises, we practice and apply what we have learned and I'll even give some homework if the student wants to practice on their time off.

Mafe is so patient and explains things so well, especially things like subjunctive, which she then uses to build up your ability to talk more naturally. Brilliant!

Me gustó mucho mi primera clase con Mafe. Hablamos sobre cosas diferentes y me parecí que Mafe es una persona muy paciente y muy amable. Tengo muchas ganas de mejorar mi español con ella.
