Über mich
italki-Lehrkraft seit 19. Jun 2020
Hello, my name is Beth, I will be your Korean language instructor. I was born and raised in South Korea. I lived in Korea until the age of 21. Currently, I live in Las Vegas. I worked a flight attendant for Cathay Pacific Airways based in Hong Kong. During that time, I learned Mandarin through italki. Italki was a great platform for me because my work schedule did not allow me to attend regular classes. I was able to learn the language anywhere in the world like you do now. After seven years of flying, I decided to come back to Las Vegas and pursued a dual master’s degree in business administration and information systems.
Ich als Lehrkraft
Whether you decided to learn the Korean language for fun or for your business needs, I am here to guide you through improving your language skills. At the same time, I will encourage you not to lose your genuine interest in Korean because learning a new language is such a long journey. Motivation has a key role in the development of language skills.
Meine Stunden und mein Unterrichtsstil
I create lesson plans and provide education through learning-centered instruction. I utilize varied teaching methods and differentiated assessments to accommodate the diverse learning needs of students and promote their active participation.
In my class, I use two text books: conversation and grammar books. I also use short YouTube video clips to expose my students to the Korean culture. For advanced students, I use current articles to discuss topics that most relate to the students.
It was a great opportunity for me to practice both listening and speaking.

Having lessons with Beth is by far one of the best things the pandemic brought to my life and I am more than grateful for that. She is the perfect professor; patient, assertive, funny, explain so well that it is impossible not to learn about so many things (grammar, vocabulary, cultural facts, slangs, things Korean people usually do etc) after the class is over. I wish her the best always for teaching me so kindly. 너무 감사합니다!
