Russian is my native language, I was born and live since childhood in Moscow, I have very standard Russian with classic Moscow pronunciation and vocabulary. I am perfectly fluent in English and German. I don't "feel" these languages as good as I feel Russian, but I know German and English grammar through and through due to my university background.

While I've been trained in more formal approaches to language teaching, I believe firmly in the power of communication and the learning opportunities it affords. This means that I like to place focus on structured grammatical learning for beginners, but to reinforce it with immersive communication. I'll correct what's relevant and what you want to correct, but won't stop you every two seconds - instead, I'll compile a list of notable errors, and go through them with you. By profession I’m a language teacher and for 7 years, I’ve taught German as a foreign language. I’m trained and certified by the Goethe-Institute and teach according to their method – the communicative approach.

I've been tutoring for over 7 years now ever since I was a high school student myself. First, I was doing private tutoring in English, German, French, Maths and Sciences. Then, after finishing my BA in English and American Studies and Business Studies in 2017 and completing my CELTA, I moved to Brighton (England) for one year to work as an English teacher at a language school. After a short period of time in Egypt I was asked by friends and other people if I am teaching german or if I would be able to do so. So I mostly gave (private) conversational lessons as a part time job (for around 3 years). I am currently not teaching beginners or children!

I have taught German and English in several different circumstances. During my early internships in China I organized basic German and business level English trainings. In the German Chamber of Commerce, I was also involved in editing a yearly bi-language training brochure for special trainings in Shanghai. But I also taught English and German for a year in kindergarten, where I focused on fun in acquiring a new language. In Germany I mainly taught German privately, mainly focusing on the Testdaf-exam but also the German high school-diploma Abitur. Occasionally, I also prepared students for the TOEFL-Exam.

I am a university trained teacher (secondary school, 1st and 2nd German state exam) and I have taught in Primary as well as in Secondary School settings. All in all, I studied 5 years and in addition I completed 2 years of teaching practice in order to be an acknowledged teacher in Germany. I taught German to French students in France and I have worked as a Secondary School teacher for French in Germany. I taught all levels, from total beginners to proficient learners. Furthermore, I am a registered teacher in Australia. I specialized in teaching intermediate and advanced learners.
