Eu me tornei uma professora para conseguir uma renda enquanto eu estou na faculdade. Comecei dando aulas de matérias do ensino médio e da faculdade para brasileiros e quando me tornei confortável com inglês e francês eu comecei a procurar, por conta própria, pessoas que queriam aprender português e inglês, assim eu adquiri conhecimento e sei o que é necessário para ensinar esses idiomas. Também tenho experiência ensinando inglês, sei dos detalhes e conheço técnicas para facilitar o aprendizado.

I hold a bachelor's degree in Language Teaching and a Master's degree in Linguistics. I have extensive experience in language teaching and I have been teaching Portuguese as a second language for seven years. Over the years, I had students with different cultural backgrounds and different levels and learning styles.

Languages are my true passion and they make my life move. That is why I decided to be a translator and later became a teacher. Being able to connect different people and their culture is something really special for me. My motivation to be in class every day is the opportunity of showing my students the richness and diversity of Brazilian culture as well as guiding them in the discovery of new words, sounds, tastes, and perspectives. Learning a foreign language makes our worlds bigger and if you give me the chance to expand the limits of yours, I gladly will.

Durante as aulas, eu vou utilizar o português, a não ser que o aluno me peça para não usá-lo. Eu acredito que a imersão e a prática são as melhores formas de aprender um idioma. Também posso recomendar livros, séries e música para ajudar o aluno a se acostumar com o país e a cultura. During classes, I’ll always use portuguese, unless the student asks me to. I believe in immersion and practice as the best way to learn a language. I can also recommend books, shows and music to help the student to grow more accustomed to the country and the culture.

Recentemente, eu realizei um trabalho voluntário como professora de português, o que me motivou a retomar a docência em horários alternados. Com isso, adquiri experiência no ensino de português para estrangeiros. Minha especialidade é o ensino de português para iniciantes no idioma. Meu método de ensino utiliza elementos do cotidiano da vida do aluno para facilitar a sua aprendizagem. Sempre que possível, são utilizadas imagens para ilustrar a lição, bem como materiais audiovisuais. Além do português padrão, também são apresentadas gírias e expressões do dia-a-dia, a fim de tornar o aluno proficiente no português coloquial. A intenção é contextualizar as aulas, pensando em situações comuns.

Faz mais de 5 anos que trabalho como professora de português e espanhol para estrangeiros, comecei na faculdade, além disso dou aula para brasileiros há mais de 10 anos. Como fiz cursos extras no inicio da faculdade sobre fonética e fonologia do espanhol e português , descobri métodos e organizações da linguagem, assim como sonorização entre outros aspectos para que o aluno aprenda melhor.

I'm a very patient teacher, and I understand that the process of learning can be different from person to person. I worked for several years teaching Portuguese to a wide range of  grades in private schools and in the public system with Secretaria Municipal da Educação (SME) in Rio de Janeiro. I also ministered private tutoring of Portuguese, Writing and Literature to children, young adults and adults ranging from preschool to high school. On top of that I received full scholarship for three years to work in the research of Morphosyntax. My research analyzed theoretical aspects of Functional Grammar and Sociolinguistics and worked with the "continuum" of gramaticalization and lexicalization in some verbal forms.
