I have never worked as a Japanese teacher, but I have so many language partner, that I get used to explain not only phrases which we native speakers use, but also grammatical stuff and nuanced differences of fixed expressions in easy Japanese, English or German. I also can teach you with grammatical explanation with linguistical terms if you want, cuz my minor is computer linguistic.
