I am a professional native Italian teacher with years of Italian language teaching experience, graduated from University of Rome, La Sapienza University in 2008. I started to work as a freelancer teacher abroad in London and LA. Today I am teaching mostly online, I’ve been working with the most popular websites like Italki. I teach all ages and all levels. I teach children, students at school and university, professionals working in big companies, artists and even foreign teachers. I teach the Italian language especially to teenagers who want to obtain certifications up to advanced levels and to adults who intend to acquire in a short time, with accelerated courses, knowledge on the language in order to travel and communicate with a minimum of autonomy in Italy.

I love being a teacher as I love being a student and learning new things. In learning a new language I think the fundamental things are listening and talking. But every now and then some grammatical rules don't hurt. The most important thing is to have fun: when we have fun we learn better and faster.

I tend to be demanding with my students, but laid-back at the same time. I want my students to make the best, pressuring the students so as they can achieve their goals. I am also very accommodating, adapting my way of teaching and the language of instruction (Italian, English or Spanish) according to the preferences of the student. I am quite honest. This means that I might sound a bit direct sometimes, but when I tell you "your Italian has really improved! You could even have a job interview now!", well, I really mean it. So you best believe it!

I have a degree in law (with honours) and have an excellent knowledge of Italian grammar. In fact, every day I have to draw up complex legal acts that require a very thorough knowledge of the Italian language. During my lessons I use various tools (text, audio, video) that I personally chose to improve you in the aspects of the Italian language in which you are most lacking. Also, I can create exercises just for you. Furthermore, at the end of each lesson, I will show you the aspects you need to work on most.

I continue to study in order to be always up-to-date on new teaching methods because it is very important to me to facilitate my students in the study of the Italian language. I love to transmit the passion for the study of the Italian language and consequently the knowledge of its history. My students learn to speak Italian fluently and discover the history, culture, music, art, cuisine and many curiosities of our Bel Paese.

I'm afraid I'm not the typical teacher. I feel like I'm more of a friendly face correcting your errors and pushing you to practice and talk. I think a lot can be done alone with books but what makes talking to a native special is that one goes beyond the (often boring) book and is able to interact and have an exchange with the person. I studied languages in school and for a year in university. I know Italian grammar well and I love grammar in general. I translated for years and got to realise how hard it can be to use the language but also how beautiful Italian is. I do not teach children or complete beginners. I don't have the expertise and don't want to ruin the experience for them!
