Although I have a technical background (Electrical Engineering / IT) I always had a desire to do more with languages and I have a talent for learning languages and teaching. During my IT career I also had to teach (the use of specific software etc.). At some point when it was time to find an other job, I made the change to become a full time language teacher. Since then I have been building up my experience at schools, in private lesson and very soon also through Skype.

I have a Master's degree in Linguistics, which included Applied Linguistics and Language Teaching, from the University of Essex. I have 5 years of experience as a professional language teacher at international schools. I started teaching Greek in 2012 and English in 2016. Puedo enseñar griego en español también.

I love my job and I love to teach my language and share the culture, traditions, and customs with people from around the world. Currently, I teach Modern and Ancient Greek in a private school and in a private center and I also give students private lessons of Greek. I also love learning languages and that's why I have already learned English, Spanish and French. As a teacher, I try to adapt the lessons in students’ age, needs, purposes or interests.

I've been teaching Greek in Scotland for three years now, and I'm very proud of my students' fast progress and solid understanding of the Greek language. We will make various exercises which will be based on your level and your skills. I suggest speaking only in Greek, as you would speak, if you were in Greece or in Cyprus. To be honest, i usually like keeping the conversation natural like you were having tea or coffee with a friend of yours. But if you really wish to talk about a specific topic that makes you happy, no worries! The more you speak in Greek in a freestyle lesson, the better you'll be, trust me! To err is human, so don't panic, if words don't come up easily! Step by step you'll feel more confident and fluent, so i invite each earthling out there to come and join a trial lesson with me!

It is very important to immerse yourself in the language you’re learning and get used to the way that natives speak. I had several friends that wanted to learn Greek too and knowing the struggles of learning a new language I was able to help them in their journey. Recently I started teaching myself Japanese and now I understand how difficult it is to read and write in a whole different script. I'm a very patient and friendly person so don't be shy. We can either have a friendly conversation about a topic you want to get familiar with, learn and practise a group of basic words and expressions for daily conversation or read Greek articles and listen to Greek songs.
