I used to work as an offline teacher. But my life was too active, I had many trips and I decided to have my job always with me so I become an online teacher! Working with people I understood that it gives me energy and I enjoy the process of communication. I like sharing knowledge, motivating my students and changing people's lives.

I have been a dance teacher for 40 years, so that I am sure I love teaching! At some times in the past, I have also given private language lessons at home, but it was hard to fit them into my family life. Now with italki offering online teaching, I am pleased to come back to it. I see teaching fundamentally as a way of communicating. Before starting to instil any skill in my dance students, I try to reach out to each of them and establish the open channel that is key to learning. This is how I am able to teach the difficult technique of classical ballet to complete adult beginners, women and men. Hello everyone, I am a CELTA certified, university graduate English teacher. I have 5 years of extensive experience teaching both children and adults, both in Turkey and abroad. I have a quiet and entertaining environment dedicated to my online classroom. I use props, pictures, songs and videos while teaching English. I focus on test teach test method where students previous knowledge is tested, usually in a role-play or discussion before the teaching starts.

My favourite thing to teach is communication. When learning a new language, there are some problems people might run into: connotations, culture, exactly how we think, formality etc. As a teacher, I aim to teach students how to communicate with English-speaking people. I can teach communication in most settings, whether formal or informal, but my speciality is general, everyday conversation.

I believe that you cannot learn if you are bored. Keeping energy up, and keeping the student involved is key. I will take the journey with the student, and be there every step of the way. My qualifications are as follows : I hold a TEFL and TEFL practical certificates. Teaching is really a passionate experience.

Although I have never formally trained in teaching language, I have voluntarily taught Japanese for many years. I’ve attended to language exchange lessons in Toronto and New York and taught Japanese to people from all over the world (e.g. American, Canadian, Russian, Polish, German, Chinese, Korean, Indian etc.) from very beginners to fluent people. I made close friends who learn Japanese and we always asked and taught each other when I was studying English. One of my best friends is an American and he still asks me about the Japanese language even after he moved to Japan.

Organized. I am a very relaxed person, and I understand how to learn languages as a language learner himself. Therefore, I focus on providing skills so that the learner can also be self-sustained outside of lessons. I focus a lot on usable conversational English, but if you need help with fine-tuning your English for a TOEFL or other systematic tests we can work on that together as well with a clear outlined lesson plan!

I have a lot of experience as a music teacher, but I am only now starting to teach English. I believe my experience teaching music will give me unique insights into the process of learning a language, because music is a lot like a language.

With teaching experience of about 23 years, I find myself very passionate about this career. I was only 18 when I had my first course as an English teacher and at the age of 16, I taught Farsi to my British classmate.
