I love teaching and helping my students expand their knowledge! I am happy to teach people from ALL over the world! Most of my students are of an intermediate - advanced level, but this is not a requirement. I have previous experience working as a teaching assistant at a school in the UK. I have a various teaching qualifications and certificates as well as having taught over 1300 Hours here on italki. This has allowed me to expand my teaching capabilities and helped enormously with my teaching style.

My journey to teaching English started by doing language exchange with many people, through which I realized that I was able to help students learn effectively, as my language partners' English fluency increased. I also realized I had a strong passion and patience for teaching! This is how I decided to become a professional English teacher!! :) I applied first to be a tutor, I tutored for a couple of years, then I got a certificate to teach English as a second language. I have had many students from all over the world, including some who have come back for many many sessions. Students tell me I am patient, helpful and professional, and I make them feel relaxed and comfortable.

I have experience in teaching English live, as a volunteer in a centre in the Chilean Patagonia. I have also taught since March 2020 as a freelancer to people off all age groups from around the world.

I am a native speaker of English earning a master's degree in linguistics and second language acquisition. I have tutored one-on-one with adult immigrants in my community and am looking forward to help you with your language goals.

I have been conversing with English language learners at my school both as volunteer and as a part time job for about a year now. I feel like I would be able to help you with continuing the conversation, pronunciation(I know a bit about how the mouth should look when making a certain sound in English and the process of learning a foreign sound since I took a Linguistics class and I understand how to add sounds to your language arsenal ^.^), and fixing your grammar mistakes. I love teaching, and I have over 18 months experience teaching English in an online setting. I have 3 TEFL certifications, with specializations in teaching English online and teaching English to children. I have taught French, English and Arabic to students from all over the world, mainly adults, at all levels, in groups as well as in private lessons. I also understand that there are some students that prefer to receive some explanation in their own languages, so that´s why I speak English, Portuguese, Spanish, German and I´m doing my best to improve rapidly my French. Besides focusing on speaking I also prefer teaching in an organized way, that means by levels. So during our first class I check your level and I get informed about what you are looking for. And from there we plan what we´ll learn and how our classes will be organized, so you´ll always know during the months, in what level you are.

To help you with these two things, after every lesson I will give you building block phrases and pronunciation tips to practice every day. Initially with a new student I would start off with general conversation in order to gauge your specific needs. Once we have determined those needs, with both your own and my input in the discussions I will progress to more structured lesson plans.
