I have been teaching children for about 30 years. My specialty is working with children with Special Needs - particularly those who have difficulties with reading, spelling and maths. I am also involved in Adult Education, helping women who are training to be preschool teachers.

I like to build long-term relations with my students (some students stay with me for years, which I consider to be the best proof of their satisfaction). However, I also prepare for language exams (which is usually unfortunately shorter cooperation yet also a fruitful one). I also teach kids (I have the most experience with 10+).

I'm looking for students of all levels, with all sorts of needs. I can provide a clear introduction on basic Italian grammar and vocabulary as well as deeper insight into them through a communicative approach.

One common piece of positive feedback I have received throughout my teaching career is that my adult students enjoy the positive and productive atmosphere of my classes. I am genuinely interested in learning about and getting to know my students, and I believe that this shows in my lessons. Speaking in a new language to someone you do not know very well can be difficult and scary (I know this well from my Spanish lessons!), so having a positive and relaxing environment is very important.

If you want, I will also give you weekly homework so you can improve your level outside our classes as well.

I have been teaching English for the past 3 years, so I know how to help a student from a beginner level to a more advanced level. In my classes, I generally like to do a mixture between grammar and practicing the language. Generally, I prefer to follow the European Framework of Reference for Languages as my guide when planning classes. I believe that grammar and vocabulary is important – but so is the experience of learning English.
