I really love getting to know my students and I use my 6 years of teaching experience to help achieve their language goals in a fun and interesting way. I've had over 3500 successful lessons completed online and in those I've helped many students pass exams such as IELTS or FCE/CAE. I've also coached business English and psychology to professionals of many backgrounds and I've witnessed many of my students gain huge confidence and improve their English use. Whatever your level, nationality and needs are, I want to help you improve your English in a fun, useful and challenging way.

I began teaching in the 1980's and for the last 12 years I've been teaching English in Shanghai, China. I've taught all ages, ranging from children of 5 up to adults. I'm TEFL certified and I have a Diploma In Media.

What can you expect from me as your tutor? First of all, well-designed and interactive lessons that will focus on your needs. During the first session, we will identify your goals and your baseline; from there, I will develop a program for you that will help you to reach your goals. Moreover, you can expect a lot of practice between our sessions. I will be sending you a variety of exercises so that you can master your gained knowledge. You also will have immediate and objective feedback from me. I use the Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) approach where the learner acquires English proficiency by actually using the language in authentic learner-centered conversations tailored to the learner's interest areas.

I have worked for over 3 years as an English tutor and bring a high level of experience in communicating, from having trained for 4 years as a professional actress. This training requires in-depth techniques and understanding of the complex ways in which we communicate. I have studied at degree level in three different subjects and use all of the skills I have gained to bring the best possible quality to my work as a tutor.

I have lots of fun discussing and explaining German words, phrases and sentence structure. I have been supporting language learners on Italki since January 2019. In the past I have lived in many countries. Whenever I am back home in Germany I go back to driving an abulance. My students appreaciate my slow and clear speech. I am very patient - I dont mind repeating myself over and over again :) Repetition is essential. I encourage students to make mistakes as they catalyse the learning process.

I’ve been teaching Farsi, English and Spanish since 2009. After teaching different students and trying various methods, I have come to believe everyone learns through their own unique way. Therefore, I would love to take the time to understand how my students learn and to use that knowledge to expedite their improvement. I am a very sociable person and my students have mostly found it easy to communicate with me which makes me a perfect teacher for discussion and conversation classes.

What originally led me to teaching were my high school teachers and my mother who always has talked about her grandfather that was a teacher. Teaching is a noble profession. I enjoy explaining how we in the US say the words (pronounce them) and how we put sentences together so they sound right. I think I'm a good teacher of English.

I have been teaching English in Korea and the UK for nearly 10 years now. In Korea, I worked at private language institutions such as Wall Street Institute and Direct English where I taught students of various ages and careers. In the UK, I briefly taught in the summer programme at Bristol Language Centre, but I've mainly worked at the University of Bath where I am currently based. I am now working as an educational researcher, but still occasionally teaching students on academic skills. I am also a CELTA qualified teacher with a Master’s in TESOL and PhD in Education.

Through this method, we’ll discover your knowledge gaps, and little by little we’ll work on to improve it. In other words, I will focus on exactly what you need and want to learn. Whether you are trying to work on your fluency, accent, grammar and reading, writing, expand your vocabulary, want to travel or any other personal reason. I'm a very positive teacher with a gentle tone but always willing to correct when I notice an error. I'm used to working with young students, so I like to have a little fun at times. Speaking is the best way to practice, so interesting conversation is key.

I am TEFL trained. I am also a trained proofreader, which means I can help you with your English writing too. I am a very patient person: I am learning French, I understand the struggles and obstacles many people face when they learn a language. After gaining a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering and then working as a professional engineer for 5 years, I decided I wanted to start a new career as an English teacher abroad. Since 2018, I’ve been working and living in Bilbao, Spain. I got my certification in Teaching English as a Foreign Language from International TEFL Academy in 2019. I have several months of experience teaching mixed-level adult classes (Canadian Benchmark Levels 1-4) in Winnipeg, Canada. My long-term goal is to move abroad (most likely to Asia) and teach English to students of all ages.

I believe one of the greatest tools for learning is having a goal. Sometimes students come in with a goal - they want to pass a test or be able to speak fluently while traveling. Other times, we can create a goal together, whether that is writing a short story in English, reading a story they love in the native English, or learning to perform comedy. I am also happy to have a casual conversation and work at a pace you are comfortable with.

I understand how difficult it can be to learn another language as I too enjoy learning languages. I have been studying languages ever since my time at secondary school where I initially learnt French and German. I have also spent time learning Spanish, Italian and Polish. More recently I have learnt some Japanese and am now studying Mandarin which I'm finding very challenging.

I am especially interested in teaching English for standardized tests like SAT and GRE, as well as day-to-day conversational and descriptive written English. I can also help with any kind of spoken or written English for school and college assignments or examinations, and guide you in preparing for recruitment-related tests and interviews. I am also particularly enthusiastic about helping you improve your pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, punctuation, and comprehension.

My two academic interests have always been languages and science. I have a Bachelor's of Science in Neuroscience and I worked in online medical education for two years, but I wanted to spend more time speaking with people, so I decided to become an English teacher. I studied for the CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults) so that I could become a good teacher, and then I taught English in Vietnam for one year. Since then, I have taught hundreds of lessons online.

I have a passion for teaching languages and have been especially interested in learning languages from a very young age. I am educated to Masters degree level in linguistics. I have taught Polish and English at all levels. I am very organised and prepared and plan the curriculum around the learners individual requirements. I provide clear aims and objectives, so that students are able to chart their own progress, and move towards achieving their development targets. I am flexible, and can organise and plan a program which can be adjusted to any standard.
