Hi, I’m Makiko. I am a qualified Japanese teacher and have been teaching Japanese more than 10 years in Melbourne, Australia. I grew up in rural Shizuoka, Japan and worked as a graphic designer at an advertising company in Tokyo for many years. Now I am very passionate about teaching. I love learning about different cultures from my students, and talk and listen about all kinds of interesting things. I’m interested in art, cooking, movies, history, classic rock and I love dogs. I’ve been to the U.S.A, Spain, France, Turkey, Netherland, Hong Kong and I lived in the UK for 2 years. Every country was incredibly wonderful. It would be nice to visit your country one day!

我的教學經歷

I have taught Japanese as a second language to hundreds of people in both group and private lessons of all ages, including high school students (The Victorian Certificate of Education in Australia). I’ve been teaching many years and so my text books have been well used especially the beginner ones. I also have a lot of experience in preparing students for JLPT exams from N5 to N1. I have always tried to provide a comfortable and encouraging environment in my class. I adapt the pace of progress to the students.

【 Are you a completely beginner student? No worries! 】 I encourage students to reach their goals while providing a relaxed atmosphere in the lessons. I believe talking is the most important way to get to know other people and culture, so I focus on being able to communicate while building grammar. ■GENERAL JAPANESE CLASS (one to one) Covers all skills for daily conversation / Beginners > intermediate > advanced ■GENERAL JAPANESE CLASS (2 people) ■CONVERSATION CLASS ■JLPT CLASS ◉ Cancellation Policy: Please give at least 24-hour notice for a lesson to be cancelled or rescheduled
