Hi everyone! I’m David, I was born in Bogota, Colombia and I became an English and Spanish teacher back in 2007. I enjoy traveling, going to concerts and music festivals, reading and listening to my records. I am also a big fan of cinema and I enjoy following movie awards. I currently live in Rio de Janeiro after teaching Spanish in the United States and I enjoy immersing myself in different cultures, spending time with people of other nationalities and learning from everyone’s culture, sharing my experiences both as a language teacher and as a traveler. I have been learning Portuguese for almost a year and living in Brazil has helped me to improve my language skills in a very short time.

我的教學經歷

I have been an English and Spanish teacher since 2007 and I have worked in several private and public institutions. I have a bachelor’s degree in English and Spanish teaching from Universidad Pedagogica Nacional and I am currently living in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where I work as an English teacher. I taught English to college students from 2008 to 2015, and I also taught English literature and directed a few language immersions at the universities I worked at. From 2015 to 2018, I lived in Washington DC and worked as a History/Spanish teacher at a bilingual multicultural school where I had the chance to teach students not only from the US but also from Central America, Africa and Asia.

I strongly believe that a teacher should learn all about the different teaching methods, materials and technologies so as to offer the best quality to their students. My classes are different depending on each student, as well as their interests and language level. I will do my best to keep you motivated by choosing the material and information that is more appealing to you and that fits your language goals. I try to make my classes interesting and fun while I cover topics suggested by students. I will tailor a personalized learning plan and our classes will be divided into understanding and producing new language, focusing our attention on using target structures and vocabulary.
