I have a keen understanding of what it takes to be an engaging, fun, and informative teacher. Through trial and error, I have come to understand the best and most effective ways of encouraging students to reach their full potential. For me, the most important aspect of learning a language is speaking, therefore I like to structure classes around conversation to help students sky rocket towards spoken fluency! With my background in linguistics and second-language acquisition, I have a unique perspective and approach my classes from both a teaching perspective and academic perspective. 我的課程內容與教學風格
As stated above, I aim to deliver mainly conversational lessons. I believe that relaxed, friendly speaking practice is the best frame to approach language through. While complex grammatical constructions are important, these can be taught and picked up in a more relaxed conversational environment, mundane worksheets aren't always the answer! Aside from this, I can help with accent and pronunciation training. While accent is not the be all and end all of language acquisition, accent reduction or training is something many students find useful.我的教材

I really like the accent he has, and I really enjoys communicating with Joe as well. And the fact that he can plan the lessons according to what I'm interested in, is very fun as well!

We had the first phonetic class today according my special request. Joe's methods is not simply to get me to repeat after him but to start with the whole view of different sounds. He also demonstrated the difference between languages; English and French for exemple, about similar similar sounds. It was really great! I'm getting to understand why I sound so French while speaking English ;)
