I am a native Japanese speaker. I completed Master of Arts Applied Linguistics Specialized in Japanese and Graduate Diploma in Education (Japanese and ESL) in Australia. I am a certified Japanese teacher and have taught in secondary schools in Melbourne for 5 years and have been teaching on italki for over 6 years. Thankfully, my retention rate is very high and it is one of the highest here. So, many of my students have been practicing Japanese with me not only for a few months but for more than a year. I have taught students from absolute beginner to advanced level over the years. I always enjoy having lessons with them and feel grateful to be able to assist with their language skills.
我的教學經歷
I use Genki 1 (2nd edition) for Beginners course, Genki 2 (2nd edition) for Intermediate 1 course, An Integrated Approach to Intermediate Japanese and Tobira for Intermediate 2 course. For advanced students, the lesson material can be arranged as you please, such as news articles and books. For Beginners to Intermediate 2 course, we will mainly use textbook as well as worksheets and PowerPoint Presentation during the class. At the end of each lesson, I give some homework mainly from the workbook. I sometimes send a worksheet for homework, too. You can complete your homework in your own time and we will check answers in the following lesson.
我的課程內容與教學風格
We will practice sentence structures, grammar points, and vocabulary together. So, you will have a lot of opportunities to create your own sentences in Japanese. Many of my students were absolute beginner when they started learning Japanese with me. So, please do not worry even if you have never studied Japanese before. If you are interested in having lessons with me, I would recommend taking a trial session first so that we can introduced ourselves a little bit, talk about how we structure your future lessons, and practice Japanese together. I believe you can improve your Japanese, too. Let’s start now! I look forward to hearing from you. Happy Japanese learning:)

In this lesson we concluded the worksheet grammar for
~のような、~のように. Kana then started on a new chapter with the grammar, Causative-passive sentences. Kana obviously has put a lot of work in her lesson preparation and produced a Power Point presentation to assist in understanding the grammar. I find her Power Point presentation to be very helpful and make it that much easier to understand the various grammar points.
We started another new grammar point this week. The lessons with Kana先生 are interesting and Kana先生 adds additional worksheets to the lessons to help me understand the new grammar points
This session started with conversational dialogue in Japanese which I find very useful in identifying some of my grammar errors and then finding the best way to express what I want to say in Japanese. The remainder of the session covered a workbook exercise and a work sheet that Kana had created. The worksheet, especially , allowed for the use of previously learnt grammar as well as the new grammar point of ~のように・~のような. Kana's instruction was excellent. She is a very patient teacher. Kana's command of English is very good which makes her explanation of Japanese grammar very precise and unambiguous.

In this lesson, Kana answered questions that I had and clarified grammar points that had caused some confusion for me. The lesson mainly focused on the grammar point of ~のように、~のような、and reviewed homework form the Genki workbook. Kana's lessons are always well prepared and she commences each lesson from exactly where the last lesson concluded.
