I have worked as a spanish teacher, but I have also worked in institutional schools. Because of my experience as a teacher and as a student, I can understand your needs. I'm an organized teacher who likes to use foreign language methods. I majored in linguistics and language teaching, so I know the basis to start up a good class. I have taught students from all levels. Don't worry if you just decided to learn this beautiful language or if you are at an intermediate or advanced level. My teaching skills will allow me to always come up with new and useful activities. Because I like to teach in a friendly ambience, I will always try to help every student, no matter what.

Since 2015 I have taught full time to students from 13 to 65 years of age, from basic academic skills to advanced business levels (for companies like Amazon, LinkedIn, Burger King and Walmart), and to people from all continents; always adapting to their needs. I got my certification as a foreign language teacher from the National Autonomous University of Mexico in 2019. I can switch from English to Spanish or vice versa if needed (but I generally prefer only to speak in the language I teach), and I can also support with different accents, formal expressions or slang. I have helped others presenting international certifications such as the IELTS, TOEFL and USA and Mexico citizenship.

I am excited about excellence in teaching either Spanish and English where the students’ diverse socio-economic, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds are understood and respected. The 5-years of Education, the 480-hours Spanish Teaching Certification which I received, and my two years of experience teaching English to native Spanish speakers and four years of experience teaching non-native Spanish speakers from France, South Korea, and the United States, among others, have made me very aware of the importance of a high-quality, communicative, supportive and motivational environment as the foundation of students’ success in Spanish learning.

Aunque he dado clases como profesora particular muchas veces en el pasado, fueron los años que pasé en China trabajando como profesora los que me hicieron darme cuenta de que quería dedicarme a la enseñanza. La primera vez que viví en China di clases de español en un instituto (aporto carta de recomendación) y la segunda vez trabajé como profesora de inglés en una academia de idiomas y en una guardería (adjunto copia del contrato) Actualmente doy clases particulares de español a un empresario chino. Me gusta establecer una buena relación con mis alumnos, pues creo que es esencial que el estudiante se encuentre a gusto para poder desarrollar todo su potencial.

My Spanish lessons have CLEAR goals, unlike most iTalki lessons. Most students continue with a teacher until they get bored or realize they are not improving fast enough, and then they move on and repeat the process again with a new teacher. Then, 2 years later, they wonder why their Spanish hasn’t improved much. Does that sound like you?  I'm NOT about having fun.

Enseñé en dos universidades de EEUU del 2004 al 2012 y del 2012 hasta el presente enseño en un Programa de Español para Extranjeros en una universidad local.
