I want students to enjoy learning. It has to be something in which they are willing to participate. I try to make most of my classes as entertaining as I can by finding topics in which the students will find an interest. Once the content is interesting, then the form (the structure, the vocabulary, the idioms etc.) will come more and more naturally and intuitively. I am very open minded and try to put myself in the students' shoes as much as possible and, as a learner myself, I can relate to the needs and obstacles someone might face in the process of learning.

I have tutored for two years at the College of Charleston in German, French and Portuguese, as well as taught the beginning conversation courses for Portuguese students. During these positions, I worked a lot with textbooks and lesson plans, but I normally will adapt the students wants and needs to make sure they feel at ease and comfortable in order to learn the best they possibly can. As stated, my current work is with professionals, but I have experience with various profiles and am trained to work with students of various cultural backgrounds, learning styles, and ages.
