What is conversation? Conversation is many things. Chatting with a friend in a coffee shop is conversation, but so is giving your boss a project update. Giving an informal talk to a group of fellow students or a service club is conversation, but so is giving a formal presentation (even if you do not take questions afterwards). In the last 5 years I have worked in remote areas of Australia both as a Renal Dialysis Nurse and as an English Tutor. I am really familiar with IELTS, FCE, CAE, and CPE, for example, so we will start with a mock test, so I can find out your strengths and weaknesses, then work hard to build on your strengths and improve your weaknesses. This usually works very well with some successful strategies I have. For conversation or business lessons, we choose topics that are relevant to you, whether it is about problems you have speaking in meetings, or just talking fluently with good pronunciation. As a teacher I enjoy helping students/adults really learn more English! Whether it is breaking down the grammatical rules and basics of the language, or just having a fun conversation around a topic that the student enjoys.
