**I teach all levels: A1-C2.** **I teach adults and children aged 13 years old and over.** I completed an introductory TEFL course while I was at university and I have been a community tutor on iTalki since 2013. I graduated with honours in Italian with Linguistics. I’ve been teaching English for most of my years in Costa Rica since 2002 and enjoy it very much. I’ve taught in schools and private institutions but with children of my own, it works better for me to teach in my home. *** MAY & JUNE 2021 UPDATE *** I am currently available to tutor in English five days a week, 40 hours per week. I recommend that students book sessions at least 1-2 weeks in advance. Any bookings made less than 24 hours in advance will not be accepted due to the time it takes to prepare for a student's lesson (trial lessons included). Scheduling a minimum of 1-2 weeks beforehand will guarantee yourself a spot in my tutoring schedule. NOTE: I will be going on vacation between June 16-23. I have been teaching English for the past 3 years, so I know how to help a student from a beginner level to a more advanced level. In my classes, I generally like to do a mixture between grammar and practicing the language. Generally, I prefer to follow the European Framework of Reference for Languages as my guide when planning classes. I believe that grammar and vocabulary is important – but so is the experience of learning English. I have a Master's degree in Teaching - Secondary Education (older children and adults). Although formal teaching is my second career, I have been teaching all of my life--children through adults. I work to help my students have space to figure out answers without cutting them off, and helping them learn to calm their mind so they can think clearly to work on an answer.

Simply discussing current events, what is happening at your work or at home, or in your city can be amazing tools to learning a language in a very practical way and expedite the learning process.
