I've been teaching for 2 years in a high school in the morning and some language schools in the afternoon. I also gave some private classes to students that needed to improve their school marks or were preparing for the Cambridge First Certificate. Due to the fact I love studying languages myself, I feel I have the tools to understand how different people learn, and that learning should be interesting and fun. It is for this reason that I welcome suggestions and requests from students to enable me to adapt every single class towards what the student wants.

I have tutored numerous English learners over the years in all areas that I have lived. These were always one-on-one informal sessions that differed for each student. Some were simply focused on fluency as the learners already had a strong grasp of English, others were more formalized as I taught grammar and vocabulary that was necessary in international business meetings and documentation.

I have been teaching English for a year in a language school. I have some materials and textbooks. I have been learning how to teach English with these textbooks since 2018.

I am a people person, friendly and outgoing. I am determined to make everything i do a success, which includes ensuring you learn as much as possible from me. When I was younger I had au pairs, to allow my parents to work full time, which means that from a young age i have been interacting with people wanting to improve their English. My experience and passion makes me an ideal English language teacher.

I grew up speaking both English and Spanish, and since I was little my friends and colleagues have asked me to help them with either language. Now, I have been teaching languages formally for over 2 years and I worked as a volunteer language teacher in Morocco. I have a TEFL certificate and I teach students of all ages and all levels. As a teacher I enjoy helping students/adults really learn more English! Whether it is breaking down the grammatical rules and basics of the language, or just having a fun conversation around a topic that the student enjoys. I believe practicing all aspects, especially conversation really helps with the learning process.

I speak English, Spanish, Afrikaans and Xhosa, and underwent training in received British pronunciation. I have been living in South Africa for the last few years, in the morning we often see a troop of baboons passing by. At University of Illinois I was the president of student associations and gave speeches at professional events and workshops. After receiving my Master’s Degree I trained employees at University of Illinois and then taught English as a Second Language, American History at the City Colleges of Chicago. Currently I focus on helping professionals and executives expand their vocabulary, utilize creative terminology, and build confidence in their public speaking abilities.
