I am a TEFL qualified English Teacher with over 2 years of teaching experience. I teach General English as well as IELTS and TOEFL preparation courses to students of different levels. I am also a Mandarin Chinese teacher with a bachelor's degree in Chinese Language, Literature and Translation. I have been living in China for 5 years now and have been speaking Chinese every day. So I can teach you real Chinese, not only the one from the textbook :) I also teach HSK preparation course. As for Russian, I am a native speaker and I offer conversation practice classes for those who want to improve their speaking skills and learn to communicate with a real Russian speaker.

As a teacher, I pay a lot of attention to my professional developent (participating in various training programs and presenting at international conferences) in order to help my students to reach their goals as soon as possible and with joy. My teaching purpose is to equip my students with necessary vocabulary on a certain topic and appropriate grammar patterns, and, of course, introduce new foreign cultural concepts. I encourage my students to progress and have a good command of English as an effective tool for reaching out due to it may help open new vistas for them, immerse into foreign culture, understand a foreign society and become many-sided persons.

I'm a constant language learner myself, currently learning my fifth language. Sharing my knowledge with others gives so much meaning to what I'm doing, I totally love it. Fifteen years of actively using English within various contexts (10 years at the London School of English, studying abroad, making friends all over the world) gave me the confidence to teach. I've been teaching privately for over a year, now I want to reach even more of you beautiful people at the different corners of our planet.

During my first three years in China I taught at an International school in the south of China, and then at a training school, High school and IELTS training center in the north of China. Since 2014 I have been teaching English at a University, where I primarily teach English majors. Whilst being experienced at teaching at all levels. I have a preference for teaching older students and adults. I have a passion for ensuring the correct use of vocabulary and pronunciation to ensure a greater sense of accuracy and fluency when communicating in English.

While I think that we are responsible for our own learning, I also know that a good teacher can make all the difference at crucial points in the process. I am very familiar with the struggle of learning new languages and I have experienced different styles of learning. So I think I can adapt my teaching style according to each student's needs and skills.

Friends that I teach German always tell me that I was a huge help for them. I am a really patient and passionate teacher. My biggest aim will be that you speak German as perfect as possible. I pay a lot of attention to mistakes and pronunciation. I speak German very slowly compared to other German natives so that you won't have any trouble understanding me. Since I haven't study German officially I might not be a grammar expert but I can ensure you totally that I am very good in doing research and preparing sources for you. I know exactly where to look these kind of things up when I am getting asked questions about grammar and I was told that I explain very very well and easy.

I have been working as a teacher since 2009 and have lived in Turkey, China, Hungary, the Czech Republic, and now Slovakia. I specialize in IELTS/PTE/OET/TOEFL and other exams but I can also help with general English, conversation, grammar, and vocabulary development. My background is in History and Politics, and I hold BA and MA/MRes degrees in both those subjects as well as in Applied Linguistics. I have recently received my 160 hours TEFL/TESL certification, but all my life I have enjoyed learning about other cultures. In my current job of working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, I have learned patience, the importance of being creative and attentive. Within this setting, I am currently teaching a music class and a math class that includes beginner to intermediate levels that include teaching balancing of checkbooks/accounts/savings and other life skills involved in spending, saving funds for whatever they may want in the future. Seeing the positive, perpetual response I get from these classes, has aided in my resolution to teach.

I am invested in my students' language learning journey. I want to create a comfortable atmosphere where my students feel like they can express themselves freely without fear of making mistakes. Once this is established, learning becomes much easier. My goal as a teacher is to have my students feel more confident when speaking and also improve their understanding when listening to spoken English.
