Are you looking to improve your German or English? Then I would love to meet you! My name is Laura and I`m originally from Dublin in Ireland and have been living and working in Germany for almost 20 years. I have a degree in International Business and Languages (German & French) and studied in both Austria and Ireland. I work in communications here in Germany and teach both English and German to adults and children. I have 2 children that I`m raising bilingually and love to travel and discover new cultures with them. I understand the difficulties involved in learning new languages. I am outgoing and friendly and make sure that my classes are fun and enjoyable!

As a teacher, I am very patient and easy going. I prepare my classes so that you get the most out of the lesson. I offer conversation practice and vocabulary building in a relaxed environment while focusing on the grammar that you need to speak confidently. I'll correct your mistakes and teach you useful expressions and phrases. In the first class we will set your goals and estimate your level of German or English so that we can chart a course to work together.

I usually divide my lessons into 2 parts. In the first part we focus on conversation. We will talk about real-life topics, cultural clichés, things that interest you or simply struggles that could arise when you are dealing with English and German speakers. In the second part of the lesson we will do an activity to work on a specific aspect of the language. I have many resources to choose from - games, stories, flash cards, quizzes, virtual tours. Soon you will be speaking more fluently and confidently!

Just had my first lesson with Laura and I really enjoyed it. We started by introducing ourselves and we made a sort of plan of what I would like to study in her classes. She’s very flexible with regards to what you want to do in her classes. We ended the trial lesson with a fun activity which really got my brain going. Looking forward to our next lesson!
