Francisca was the first teacher I’ve tried with Italki, and she remains the standard of excellence against which I compare others. Always very well-prepared, ready to explain, help and lead one patiently. I originally wanted to learn a few phrases for my trip, but Francisca made me fall in love with Indonesian. I look forward to studying more with her.

It is not in my personality to write online reviews for any product or service. In fact, this is the first one I have ever submitted. However, I have been compelled to share my experience of being taught Bahasa Indonesia by Francisca so that others can seriously consider this teacher. I have now had 29 lessons with Francisca, in which I have gone through the beginner course, and am now in the intermediate course, becoming much more confident in my language skills along the way. Francisca has been supportive and professional at every stage. The lesson plans themselves are always thoughtfully arranged with prepared materials, exercises and even homework. It is up to you to put in the work, but Francisca will carefully lay out the path to success for you to follow. During the lessons, she is always kind, supportive, and patient with clarifications, corrections, and answering questions. This review is long overdue! Francisca is the answer to your Bahasa Indonesia goals!

My vocabulary list has grown to around 900 words since May last year while working with Francisca. I’m starting to read a lot more confidently, my listening comprehension skills need some work, but Francisca uses as little English as possible in my most recent lessons to help with this. I’ve still a long way to go but looking forward to learning more in 2021!
