Erika is amazing! She made me feel comfortable right away and took note of my learning goals. During our conversation, she typed out my corrections while I was speaking, which is exactly what I need! She was very collaborative about what our lessons would look like and transitioned fluidly between conversation and teaching grammar. She is incredibly professional and calm. I look forward to working with her for the long-term to reach proficiency in the Spanish language.

Erika is an absolutely fantastic teacher, and you should book with her immediately! That’s the headline. Now, some details… I waited until I had 5 lessons with Erika before writing this review, so it could give you a more complete picture of what working with her is like. I am working with a number of teachers and tutors on iTalki. Not all have worked out, but Erika was a lock from our first lesson together. Of all of my teachers, she has the best English and the most advanced ability to associate Spanish phrases to their equivalents in English. Most teachers can do this when it comes to the basics, (food, travel, etc.); when it comes to business Spanish, striking the proper tone, replacing American idioms — that’s where the high level knowledge comes in. She has taught Spanish in embassies, which ought to tell you about her skill. On top of all that, Erika is a patient and helpful teacher, and the lessons are a lot of fun! The time flies by.
