As a teacher I always try to create a fun and safe environment where you can feel confident enough to learn. I like to get to know my students so I can use different strategies for you to learn. I have the TKT (Teaching Knowledge Test) certification from the University of Cambridge and I have experience working with kids, teens and adults.

As mentioned, I believe having a native grasp in both English and Spanish is an advantage. It allows me to easily translate idiomatic concepts and expressions that don’t have literal equivalent from one language to the other. I can draw meaning from my native understanding of both languages (and my experience in using both in daily life) to find the right examples and the closest translations from the source to the target language. I studied linguistics and, even though it is generally not required for a language teacher to be trained in linguistics, there is a growing number of experts in the community who believe it's a huge plus. I've drawn countless knowledge from it to teach.

I started teaching Spanish in my travels in Europe, exchanging classes for accommodation and the experience was so good that I decided to become a teacher. When I was young, some of my favorite subjects in school were languages. I always found English or French class time exciting, I was always looking forward to these classes. Other great experiences in my youth where when a friend from another country would come to visit and we would share our language knowledge. It was fun. Now, I'm very excited to share what I know today.
