I am a resourceful and motivated ESL and Portuguese teacher with three years’ teaching experience with young learners (children and teenagers) as well as adults. I am CELTA qualified and I have lived and taught during one year in China, so I feel confident and experienced working with learners who do not share the same mother tongue as I do. I have also volunteered with WWOOF in Europe, so I have lived in France, UK, Croatia and Greece, which helped me understand my passion for languages and different cultures. I believe my biggest qualities as a teacher are empathy and eloquence, which allows me to establish strong rapport with my students as well as deliver effective lessons.

As a techer I may say that being a language student too has made me feel like putting myself in students' shoes too. So in short I know how it feels like not knowing a thing about it. As a language learner myself (I'm learning Dutch at the moment), I realized that my skills can improve much faster when I talk to my teacher about my expectations. It helps me get the most of my lessons, and I encourage you to do the same. I have a program for learners of Portuguese as a second language (Survival Portuguese) and as a foreign language (General Portuguese). If you prefer not following any program, we can work on texts of your choice or focus purely on conversation.

As I have a huge experience in learning languages (since I was a little kid, actually), I know how to find the best way of learning Portuguese. I am a very patient and friendly teacher. I will correct your mistakes immediately if they compromise our communication. And since I'm just a native speaker, we can talk about everything in the world!

I have a degree in English and Translation Studies from UFRGS, in Brazil, and I have been teaching English and Portuguese for the past seven years, in both schools and to private students. My students have ages that go from little infants in their oralization process up to adults, with several different levels of language knowledge and goals. I have a Languages degree (Portuguese and French) from the UFPE and I did a postgraduate course in Applied Linguistics to Portuguese Language Teaching in the FAFIRE. I also had the opportunity to study Didactics for Languages for six months in the Université Sorbonne Nouvelle, in Paris. Since 2011, I work as a teacher of Portuguese (as first and foreign language) and French and I’ve had experiences in schools, language courses, online lessons… So I have a large experience teaching both of them and I had the opportunity to teach students with different levels, profiles and goals. My lessons are dynamic, fun and prepared according to the student's objective and interests.
