I graduated from Cambridge University in 1989. I qualified as a CELTA teacher in 2004 and have worked with International House and the British Council. I have taught General English, Business English, Legal English and Cambridge/IELTS Exam classes.

I have been an English and Spanish teacher since 2007 and I have worked in several private and public institutions. I have a bachelor’s degree in English and Spanish teaching from Universidad Pedagogica Nacional and I am currently living in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where I work as an English teacher. I taught English to college students from 2008 to 2015, and I also taught English literature and directed a few language immersions at the universities I worked at. From 2015 to 2018, I lived in Washington DC and worked as a History/Spanish teacher at a bilingual multicultural school where I had the chance to teach students not only from the US but also from Central America, Africa and Asia.

I'm a qualified native English teacher and I've been teaching English as a second language for 8 years. I taught English in Spain for 3 years in a language academy to all levels and ages and then started teaching English online via Skype to adults from all over the world! Since teaching online I have helped hundreds of English learners take their English to the next level; giving them the confidence, motivation and the skills they need to improve. I love to travel. I have traveled to Germany, China, Hungary, Turkey, Ireland, Puerto Rice, and the eastern half of the USA so far. One of my favorite travel memories is playing soccer with Turkish children. I'm currently fixing a travel trailer so I can explore more of America and Canada. I have "grandma" hobbies such as reading, writing, baking, and knitting. I also have outdoorsy hobbies like hiking, kayaking, and volunteering on a horse farm. I'm a bit of a nerd, so I enjoy talking about things like Harry Potter. What things do we have in common? Let's talk about it! I show students a new thing in English every week. These things range from a good song to a comic I enjoy.

In the first lesson we will talk about the reason you are taking lessons and what you want to learn from the class. From there I can work out what we need to focus on and what you want to improve and achieve. I can provide home work and constructive feedback.
