I have tutored before at several levels - from absolute beginner to business English, both children and adults. I have taught for around 4 years in total, to native speakers of all mother tongues. My method for language learning is not focused on memorising grammar, but rather on making language learning fun. My students and I chat about our day to day lives and problems and debate art and politics. More than students, I call the people I meet on italki friends. I earned my bachelor's degree in Business Teacher Education in 2013 and graduated with flying colors from one of the top universities in my country. I took and passed the Licensure Examination for Teachers in the same year. I've started my teaching career after graduation, and I'm currently working my way towards earning my master's degree in Education. To further enhance my teaching skills and qualifications, I took a 120-hour TEFL certificate course from an accredited online training provider. As a teacher, I'm friendly, kind, and patient with all my students.

I have been an English and Spanish teacher since 2007 and I have worked in several private and public institutions. I have a bachelor’s degree in English and Spanish teaching from Universidad Pedagogica Nacional and I am currently living in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where I work as an English teacher. I taught English to college students from 2008 to 2015, and I also taught English literature and directed a few language immersions at the universities I worked at. From 2015 to 2018, I lived in Washington DC and worked as a History/Spanish teacher at a bilingual multicultural school where I had the chance to teach students not only from the US but also from Central America, Africa and Asia.

Initially with a new student I would start off with general conversation in order to gauge your specific needs. Once we have determined those needs, with both your own and my input in the discussions I will progress to more structured lesson plans. I am patient, helpful and friendly with a wicked sense of humour...
