¡Hola! I'm Isabel and I grew up in Oaxaca, Mexico, where I would teach Spanish. I used to work in a language school that welcomed people from other countries, who were curious not only about the language but the cultural heritage as well. Art and history are very important to me. I'm currently studying the master's degree in TESOL (teaching English to speakers of other languages). Being a second language learner myself, I understand the challenges but also the remarkable feelings that come with noticing your own progress.

Minha atuação como professor

I've taught both Spanish and English in Mexico (mostly to teenagers/young adults), always trying make my students feel comfortable so that they speak from day one. Creating an engaging lesson is key too, I believe this helps with motivation for learning, enjoyment of the class and retention.

Let's talk about your purposes, expectations, and needs beforehand and communicate throughout the process. I love the idea of an amusing learning experience, including lots of interesting material, activities, and why not, games, and a good laugh from time to time! My teaching style is based on: ✔ The Immersion style: there will be exposure to Spanish (as much as possible) according to your level, using slow, clear and comprehensible language; gesticulation and visual aids are also included. ✔ Whole language approach: designed to help you learn in a natural way with authentic situations and materials. You'll construct your knowledge by doing (rather than receiving it).
