I am a professional language teacher; I’ve worked in Avital School in Merom Golan, Danziger School in Qiryat Shemona and Israel’s leading English evening school, High-Q. I have a B.A. in psychology from Tel-Hai College and a B.Ed. in English teaching in Ohalo College. I love my job! I love English, I love Hebrew, and I love explaining them. I have a lot of experience in teaching and tutoring. In Israel I taught in elementary school for two years and when I moved to the states I taught in a Hebrew school, for a few years, all ages as well as private lessons, and tutoring people before Hebrew exams. While I was teaching at the Hebrew school I also took Hebrew classes at my university to understand better how to teach it and help my students more. I tailor my classes to the individual student - the content and material I bring are chosen according to what you express interest in. So if you are interested in astronomy, we will learn Hebrew using astronomy; and if you want to read the Bible, we will do that. I really enjoy teaching people about Israel and Judaism, and so I also have an array of materials about these subjects. In addition I've created short recorded stories, accompanied by a PDF and a dictionary, where the student learns verb conjugation, sentence structure and vocabulary, while listening to stories.

As a teacher I am informal, yet very progressive and will push you to learn and memorise your lessons properly and efficiently. I will provide all the support and encouragement you need to learn. I believe in positive encouragement as one of the strongest tools in learning anything new. If you just want to try a few lessons with me that is absolutely fine even if you can't commit any time for homework between lessons. But I always say the best way to learn is firstly to understand that there is only so far a teacher can take you. If you honestly want to learn and progress it would be best if you spend some of your time between lessons going over material we've covered and practise.

To determine the learning process, I proceed from the goals of my students. I speak, ask questions, and encourage my students to do the same. I remember that questions can never be stupid. We read stories, newspapers, books, etc. By the way, I have a lot of experience in preparing students for ulpan exams, as well as university exams, for tourism purposes, for reading the Bible or professional vocabulary. Because of my linguistic education, I can explain any, even the most complex grammatical concepts.

Last year I created a language exchange program, where people could teach their native language in exchange to learn a new language. I myself gave classes in Portuguese, English, Spanish and Hebrew and got the opportunity to learn French. It was a really challenging and rewarding project that made me understand the different needs of my students and be creative with the methods of teaching in order to create fun and challenging classes. I'm highly motivated to teach languages, because I know I can help students to get a really useful tool for life. I'm enjoying to be an important part in the process and see the progress and results.
