Hello! My name is Tapas, I am a native Bengali and Hindi speaker and English is my second language. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Physics from the University of Calcutta. I live in the cultural capital of India- Kolkata, in West Bengal. Therefore, I am naturally more inclined towards arts and heritage. I am a bookaholic and I love to learn about the cultures and customs of different places across the world. I am good at effective conversation and I love to communicate with different people, irrespective of the language they speak. I feel language can never be a barrier when it comes to sharing and exchanging knowledge, information, ideas, and thoughts.

I have been teaching both kids and adults Bengali, Hindi and Science, since my college days. I have experience of over 4 years in teaching students of all ages and levels and my teaching style differs with each. I try to get to know each of my students and allow them to know me as much as possible, to create a comfortable and engaging environment where they do not hesitate to ask questions or feel uncomfortable in making errors as it's all a part of learning. I believe that in order to succeed with anything in life, one has to enjoy what they do. This is why I try to make my lessons fun and interactive so that my students feel motivated to continue learning Bengali and Hindi.

Building vocabulary, pronunciation skills, basic grammar knowledge, and fluency are the core of my lessons. I focus more on helping to develop practical language skills that would enable the students to strengthen their proficiency in communicating effectively. I use audio resources in my lessons which are proven to help students understand how the languages are used in real-life situations. I provide written materials about the topic of the day's lesson for revision purposes. I ensure that my students always have easy access to the required study assets. I use personalized resources for each of the students and coach them to accomplish their goals- both long-term and short-term.
