My name's Helen and I'm a CELTA certified (Cambridge University) English teacher with a Master's Degree in Teaching English and over 11 years of experience. Although my mother tongue is Russian, I speak English 80 per cent of my time. I teach American English at an English school in Kyiv with multinational staff, where all co-workers communicate only in English. On top of that, I constantly speak with Americans and took an American Accent Course in order to get American accent. I think the most common obstacle on the way of language learning is a fear of making mistakes. Therefore, you have to accept yourself and mustn’t allow your emotions or other people to make you feel stressed out.

Helen and I spent a great hour learning some idioms and putting them into practice. The lesson has been very well planned by Helen as always, she is an amazing teacher and I can only recommend her! I'm looking forward to the next lesson

I highly recommend Helen as a teacher for IELTS preparation. Lessons are always very nice structured so during the lesson you spend time in the most effective and educative way. Helen does not only provide learning materials like student books and workbooks, but also prepares for you special materials like videos and presentations devoted to better understanding of the lesson's topic. During the lesson Helen shares theoretical information about the exam, and also tips and examples for completing tasks in order to get a maximum score. Most importantly, she gives you instant feedback on your work: correcting mistakes while you're speaking and giving detailed review on your essays for the writing part of the exam. Not to mention, that Helen is a very nice and friendly person so during her lessons you are always staying in a good mood.

Helen is really great teacher. We have completed a few lessons for a month. This is my first experience with İtalki and Helen. I was hesitating and I had some worries about speaking with foreigner. However, I have become calm thanks to Helen. We determined my English level in the first lesson and started to lessons. She gives me her own notes, recommendations about youtube videos. I am happy to have a lesson with her. I strongly recommend her

Today we reviewed my homework and discussed "Team Building", practising my speaking, listening and reading skills. In addition, we deepened a bit some of my grammar blind spots. Thank you, Helen, for another great lesson together. She's an amazing teacher and I can only recommend her. Looking forward to our next session!
