As a teacher and a psychologist, I understand and appreciate individual differences and uniqueness so I treat each student as a unique person with different temperament and personality. I am empathetic and supportive of my students' efforts and perseverance to learn. I have been teaching mostly in the classroom, one on one as well as home teaching. I am a certified teacher in Ghana with a Diploma in Basic Education, Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with Political science, and currently a final year MPhil Clinical Psychology student awaiting graduation. As a highly motivated and goal-oriented teacher, my style of teaching has been learner-centered devoid of boring lectures so my students are active in the learning processes. I provide a conducive and calm environment so students get the opportunity to ask questions, express themselves and practice what they have learned with me. I also use level-appropriate language in my teaching devoid of jargon. I use teaching aids such as flashcards, images, and visuals to aid my students' understanding. Dacosta was very patient during our class. He is very flexible to his students' needs. I am a heritage speaker of the language, so he was able to teach me without speaking English, therefore I received full immersion. During our class, Dacosta was able to provide explanations that many native speakers are not capable of explaining properly. I feel confident that he will be able to assist me with reaching my language goals.
