Though only on an informal basis, I have always enjoyed teaching others since I know clearly what it is like to be on the other end as a student and aim to make students as comfortable as possible. I help motivate students to achieve success by concentrating on the goals that they have set for themselves. I keep teaching balanced by focusing on accurate pronunciation, correct grammar, and even additional areas such as language register (spoken vs. written language, slang, etc.). Since I realize that I am on the student's time, I cater my lessons to what they want. Some may want strictly grammar-oriented lessons, others may want focus on speaking or writing, and others may not be sure at all. Robert is a fantastic teacher of Icelandic - my lessons have so far back a perfect combination of pronunciation and conversation practice with cultural nuggets and real-life explanations of what is actually spoken vs what is taught in textbooks.

Another great lesson with Robert. A very talented and extremely intelligent teacher of Icelandic. I’d recommend Robert 100%. He‘s just a great teacher and a very nice person.

Robert is a fantastic, enthusiastic and talented teacher. I very much enjoyed my lesson with him and look forward to the next. He designs a lesson style to meet the objectives of the student, and is a very well schooled (quite impressively so) in how to teach a language, and highly educated. I’d highly recommend him without any reservation whatsoever!
