Through years of teaching Korean, I have learned fun and interactive classes is one of the most important aspects of learning, since things are more easily remembered in a fun learning environment. I also believe that using words and phrases that students have learned recently helps significantly in integrating those words into their repertoire. I am very proud of my students, most of whom have shown a lot of progress in this area. One of the main goals in learning a language is to speak it, which is why I also put a lot of effort into encouraging sentence construction and speaking.

I have been teaching English in Korea and the UK for nearly 10 years now. In Korea, I worked at private language institutions such as Wall Street Institute and Direct English where I taught students of various ages and careers. In the UK, I briefly taught in the summer programme at Bristol Language Centre, but I've mainly worked at the University of Bath where I am currently based. I am now working as an educational researcher, but still occasionally teaching students on academic skills. I am also a CELTA qualified teacher with a Master’s in TESOL and PhD in Education.

For me, getting to know you as a student AND as a person are both important. I want to know how you learn and process things so I can match to your needs. I want to know your strengths and weaknesses so I can help you balance them. I want to know what your interests are and what’s going on in your life so you can practice what you actually want to say to other people. And this also helps me to connect to you as a person. I will lead and guide you as a teacher but I will also be a friend that you can talk comfortably with.

rI'm an experienced teacher in online speaking classes through 1000+ online lessons I want to say my strength is a fun lesson. I have various students who've been studying with me for years, and I believe what made them study with me for a long time is that they can improve and have fun in class at the same time. My another strength is patience. Not all students are fast learners, and when that moment comes, I do my best to make student understand and wouldn't mind explaining and reviewing the same thing again. I would only move on to the next page when I'm sure that a student is keeping up with me.

We, as language learners need the motivation to keep learning. Korean and English are very different languages. The way people say thing is different and the word order is also very different. (In Korean, the verb comes last). For example, in English, we say "What are you talking about?" But in Korean, we say "What kind of saying is it? (=무슨 말이에요?)" Also, in English, we say "Happy birthday." But in Korean, we say "Birthday congratulations (= 생일 축하해요)." Example like these show just how different English and Korean are. If we literally translate English to Korean, it sound very unnatural. So, when we study Korean, memorizing natural Korean sentences is very important. I will teach you how to make natural Korean sentences.

I have years of experience teaching English as a second Language to both children and adults. Also, I have been teaching Korean since 2018 and realised that I really enjoyed teaching and sharing my knowledge as much as I can. I will listen to you speak and focus on speaking and listening because I think that is the most important part of learning a language for the first time. I've been over a year since I taught Korean to learners who want to learn it. Also, the experience of teaching English learners is more than 7 years. From young students to adult learners, I taught with basic English and conversation. And the order of Korean and English grammar is the opposite. I taught English grammar according to the student's ability. It also led people from various nationalities to meet and study Korean from two years ago. I helped to study Korean, starting with consonants and vowels, and even TOPIK.

I am a professional Korean teacher. Now I live in Jeonju in Korea. I have been teaching on italki since 2017, but I first started in 2011. I was in an exchange program in Tanzania in the university and I helped some children speak Korean at Hangeul school. It was a new experience for me and I had a really good time with them. After that, when I traveled to Southeast Asia, I met some foreigners who were interested in Korean culture especially K-pop and K-dramas. I found out people feel happy to have a conversation in a foreign language with a native speaker. Those experiences made me think teaching Korean might be one of the wonderful things I can do.
