I am a qualified and certified online TEFL English teacher. I am also a qualified IELTS teacher (Reading, Writing, Speaking, Listening). I have been teaching for approximately 1 year and have about 2300 (two thousand three hundred) English lessons behind my name. I believe that I can make a difference in the lives of my students, as I would like to grow alongside them and encourage them in succeeding in their educational journey. I am a TEFL-certified English teacher, with a background in journalism. During my ten years as a magazine editor, I've gained incomparable experience in correcting and levelling-up people's English skills. Further, I've been teaching English privately for around five years across the UK, Germany and Thailand. As such, my experience lies primarily in one-on-one teaching, which I'm excited to continue here on iTalki. My lengthy experience in the business world has also allowed me to teach business English with confidence.

I love teaching, I have 8 years teaching experience in Thailand, teaching English as a second language (ESL) to a wide range of students from Elementary level right through to PhD Students. I kind of fell into teaching when I came to live here in Thailand, I was asked to help at the local school teaching conversation skills to the local students. I really enjoyed this and wanted to do more, I got the teaching bug! I applied for a TEFL/TESOL course and on completion started teaching at a high school, after a few years I went freelance and started to teach at Universities all over South-east Asia.

I would describe my teaching style as very interactive. I prefer to create a teaching environment that encourages critical thinking and elicits responses from my students rather than having them merely retain and repeat information. I make use of different websites and encourage my students to read to improve both vocabulary and fluency.

I will help to develop your fluency and communication skills; at the same time I'll work to identify particular areas of your English to improve together through error correction and more focussed exercises. Just a quick note - I don't have teaching materials for children so if you are looking for a tutor for a child please find someone who is more of a specialist in teaching children.

My favourite part of teaching is getting to know my students are learning about their cultures. I am also happy when I see my students having fun while learning.
