I have been a tutor for kids in Bulgaria for English so I have some experience with teaching others. I love to travel. I have traveled to Germany, China, Hungary, Turkey, Ireland, Puerto Rice, and the eastern half of the USA so far. One of my favorite travel memories is playing soccer with Turkish children. I'm currently fixing a travel trailer so I can explore more of America and Canada. I have "grandma" hobbies such as reading, writing, baking, and knitting. I also have outdoorsy hobbies like hiking, kayaking, and volunteering on a horse farm. I'm a bit of a nerd, so I enjoy talking about things like Harry Potter. What things do we have in common? Let's talk about it! I show students a new thing in English every week. These things range from a good song to a comic I enjoy.

Teaching has been a long term passion of mine. With my clear British accent, educational background, patience and overall enthusiasm for learning languages, I am sure to be a useful tool in your English learning journey. I have a Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training, a recognised teaching qualification for post-16 learners in the UK. My career ambition is to teach higher education and conduct research in universities after completing my PhD. I have a wealth of experience in teaching and supporting students of a variety of ages. I have also taught English abroad.

I think the most important quality as a teacher is the ability to encourage learners. Learning a language is not always easy and there are ups and downs. And it requires quite a bit of efforts and dedication. I believe that a good teacher makes learning more pleasant even when learners bump into obstacles, and makes them feel comfortable and relaxed so that they can speak without feeling nervous. So I try to be a good listener. I also try to make each class fun and helpful with lots of preparation.

I may be new teacher on the Italki platform but I have been teaching English outside of the Internet since 2011 when I started giving private classes in my hometown. Later, in 2012 I got employed in a local kindergarten where for almost two years I was teaching children between 3-6 years old. My further experience I gained in an English language school in Malta, where I was working as an English lecturer from July 2014 until June 2015. Since last year I live and tutor again locally in Spain.
