Γεια! Hello! My name is Elpida and I’m a native Greek speaker. I was born and raised in Athens, Greece but currently I live in London, UK. I studied Theatre at the University of Peloponnese in the beautiful seaside town of Nafplio. After I finished my studies and my internship in theatre, I decided that it was time to travel around the world. I came to London in 2017 to work as an Au Pair and since then I’ve travelled to various destinations and I’ve met very interesting people from all around the world. As a kid I’ve learnt English and French and as an adult I taught myself the basics of Spanish. To further my understanding and ability in the language I attended advanced Spanish classes.

It is very important to immerse yourself in the language you’re learning and get used to the way that natives speak. I had several friends that wanted to learn Greek too and knowing the struggles of learning a new language I was able to help them in their journey. Recently I started teaching myself Japanese and now I understand how difficult it is to read and write in a whole different script. I'm a very patient and friendly person so don't be shy. We can either have a friendly conversation about a topic you want to get familiar with, learn and practise a group of basic words and expressions for daily conversation or read Greek articles and listen to Greek songs.

Flexible! We can develop a teaching plan especially for you, or you can bring your own plan and we will accomplish it together. I will adjust every lesson to my student’s needs, either your goal is communicating with natives in your summer holidays in Greece or you just want to be able to have a casual conversation with your Greek friends around the world. Please feel free to contact me if you can’t find a matching available time for you on my calendar or if you just have any questions. Η Ελπίδα είναι πολύ καλός δάσκαλος. Αυτή προετοιμάζει υλικό πριν από το μάθημα ανάλογα με τις ανάγκες σας. Είναι πολύ ενθουσιώδης! Personally I came to Italki having studied Greek over the years and wanting to gain more practice in speaking and learning more vocabulary, and I've found Elpida is an excellent teacher for this.
