I was born in Switzerland, at the border between French- and German-speaking areas and my mother tongue is French. Starting at a young age, I have learned languages in very different ways: by "immersion" - learning Swiss German with kids on the street, traditional classes at school, including German, Latin and ancient Greek and a mixture of individual learning in books, on the internet or with friends. I have studied dance in Brussels and London, also Linguistics and English Literature at Tel Aviv University. I am a multidisciplinary artist and I tour the world with my own physical theatre pieces. I love teaching and I love meeting people from around the world!

I have been a dance teacher for 40 years, so that I am sure I love teaching! At some times in the past, I have also given private language lessons at home, but it was hard to fit them into my family life. Now with italki offering online teaching, I am pleased to come back to it. I see teaching fundamentally as a way of communicating. Before starting to instil any skill in my dance students, I try to reach out to each of them and establish the open channel that is key to learning. This is how I am able to teach the difficult technique of classical ballet to complete adult beginners, women and men. Learning a language is no different and I will offer you my complete attention and support.

My aim is to make you feel comfortable communicating with people: there is no shame in being a beginner and be assured I am going to make you speak! Of course, I will also talk and repeat myself as many times as necessary for you to understand the spoken language. I can suggest podcasts, audiobooks or videos for you to listen between classes. If you are interested in the written language, I can provide you with grammar exercises and suggest newspaper articles, blog entries, internet sites or book excerpts according to the subjects that interest you. Apart from French, my mother tongue, I only teach languages I learned in their country of origin and that I use every day.
