I am a young professional passionate about culture and travel. I grew up in Mexico City, but have lived in Canada, Switzerland, and now the United Kingdom, where I am pursuing a PhD in computer science. I enjoy cooking all sorts of spicy food, playing board games, tasting craft beer, and going on outdoor adventures in my leisure time. Ultimately, I consider myself an open-minded and patient guy. Soy un joven profesionista apasionado por la cultura y los viajes. Crecí en la Ciudad de México, pero he vivido en Canadá, Suiza, y ahora en el Reino Unido donde estoy persiguiendo un doctorado en ciencias de la computación. En mi tiempo libre me gusta cocinar y las actividades al aire libre.

I consider myself a patient teacher with strong interpersonal skills. I prefer to teach by doing and through conversational practice. However, I can also adapt to your learning style and work together towards your specific goals. I am always on time and have materials ready for us to discuss. My lessons focus on helping intermediate and advanced students to improve their comprehension and speaking skills. To do so, I use a wide variety of interactive methods and resources. My materials include videos, podcast snippets, short articles, and interactive boards to have vibrant conversations and explore new vocabulary. Every lesson, I propose different topics of discussion, both casual and advanced. Mis lecciones se enfocan en ayudar a estudiantes intermedios y avanzados a mejorar sus habilidades de conversación y comprensión. Uso una varied de métodos interactivos para tener conversaciones y explorar nuevo vocabulario. ¡Trabajemos juntos para alcanzar tus objetivos de aprendizaje!

This was an amazing lesson. Carlos provided very helpful conversational questions that constantly had me on my toes. I sometimes feel like I lose my spot in the sentence in Spanish, but Carlos was extremely helpful and patient. He also made sure to not over help me. He only provided help when he knew I was caught in a bind, in which case, he usually just reiterated what I previously spoken which helped me to recalibrate if the thought processing I was using was quite helpful or not. He also speaks at varying speeds within the conversation to help build stamina and listening skills. Really impressive teacher.

Carlos es muy paciente y es un buen oyente. Está dispuesto para conversar sobre diversos temas. La conversación libre sería una fantástica opción y será una experiencia enriquecedora. Si les interesa México, las clases serían aún más divertidas.

Carlos is honestly a very helpful and professional teacher. He keeps the conversation flowing smoothly despite my lack of vocabulary and short responses. Most of all he's patient and allows you to express yourself before correcting mistakes. I would recommend Carlos to any Spanish learner and I look forward to future lessons!
