Hi, My name is María and I am a native Spanish speaker from Colombia. I have always enjoyed learning languages, learning about other cultures and talking to people from different backgrounds. I speak English fluently and am currently learning German. Throughout the years, I have discovered effective language learning techniques that have led my students to great success. These techniques have enabled my students to rapidly improve their Spanish and reach their desired fluency.

I consider myself a very patient, enthusiastic, and respectful tutor. My ultimate goal as your Spanish tutor is to help you get to the level where you will be able to communicate confidently with individuals from various Spanish speaking countries.

내 강의 및 지도 스타일

My tutoring approach is based off your individual needs and goals. The lessons I offer are conversation based and include pronunciation instruction. I believe that listening, reading, writing, and grammar are just as important as speaking. Therefore, if you wish, I will also incorporate them in our lessons. When it comes to working with beginners, I usually start by teaching basic Spanish phrases and vocabulary. We will work on grammar to make sure you can start speaking Spanish as soon as possible. I have loved every single Spanish lesson with Maria. She is an amazing conversationalist -- I look forward not only to practicing my Spanish with her, but to having engaging and meaningful conversations about the world. Talking about philosophy, politics, society, etc., has really taken my Spanish to the next level. Maria always corrects my grammar and offers interesting videos and essays as homework based on my interests. Highly recommend!

Maria is an incredible teacher. I have had regular lessons with her for a number of months and my Spanish has improved greatly. Her accent is very clear both in English and Spanish. Her English ability is well above how she rates herself on Italki, so if you need help understanding things she can break it down in English. She is also patient and cares deeply about helping her students succeed. Her love of language is evident in each lesson. She is always prepared for lessons and has extra materials on hand if you want some extra help. I would strongly recommend Maria as a teacher for anyone.
