With teaching experience of about 23 years, I find myself very passionate about this career. I was only 18 when I had my first course as an English teacher and at the age of 16, I taught Farsi to my British classmate. Since then, I have always tried to develop confident and culturally fluent English/Persian speakers who can successfully navigate the social, travel, and business situations that they will encounter in their lives. The best part about teaching is to see students making progress in their language skills with your support. It is also important for me to create an atmosphere where my students would feel at ease during the lessons.

My background in linguistics, particularly phonetics, allows me to specialise in pronunciation, and the many languages I speak will allow me to understand why you make certain mistakes, and so it will be easier for me to help you correct them. I also have experience in speech therapy, as my younger brother is deaf and verbally dyspraxic, and this helps tremendously with teaching pronunciation. I believe these abilities put me in an excellent position to help you sound like a native speaker. My style is relaxed but attentive, and I aim to get you speaking as much as possible. You do not need to prepare anything for the lessons (unless you want to), I will always have questions for you!

I'm a friendly and a super approachable guy. I put a lot of emphasis on getting to know my students and their purpose in life, I constantly ask the question "where do I come in as an English language coach?"

I am a creative and modern teacher. I take time to get to know each of my students, your culture, your learning style, and what's important to you. When you buy a package, I am able to build upon each lesson through review, follow-up questions, and really getting to know you. In addition to class time, I spend a lot of creating lesson plans, grading homework, researching, and developing new skills, material, and content. I recommend that students schedule 2-3 lessons per week (plus plan on additional time working independently outside of class) to achieve the best results. Book lessons in advance if you need a specific time slot.

I am a Canadian certified teacher. I also have my B.A in Linguistics as well as diplomas in Early Child Education and TESOL. I have been working in many different school settings including public/private schools and one on one/group tutoring. I have a bachelor degree in Mass communication. I have over five years of teaching experience. I taught English at a secondary school in Nigeria, prior to that I worked as a substitute teacher in a school where I gained useful and intensive experience in teaching.

Because my lessons are solely conversational, I HIGHLY recommend you only take my lessons if you're an intermediate/advanced learner. As an informal tutor, we will not spend much time on grammar, but if you do have specific questions you'd like to ask me, I can help you! The best way i can help you on your journey to becoming fluent in English, is of course letting you talk, but also create an environment in which we both have a conversation. The goal is to improve listening comprehension as well as verbal communication.

Languages are my favorite hobby. I study them everyday, and can relate the struggle to improve your skills. In addition to using my language learning experience, I also draw on my previous years of experience teaching different people of different ages and with different English levels. As a teacher, I am very patient, relaxed and encouraging. I do my best to be professional in my classes with that extra personal care. Depending on the level and the age of the student, my body gestures and physical responses make the students feel active and focused on my lessons. I love sharing my ideas and opinions but I am also a good listener, open to what the students might want to share. That's why I also find satisfaction in stimulating conversations. I can also be very funny and I laugh a lot, even if there is nothing to laugh about. I am just a happy teacher and I hope I can make my students happy as well.

I have recently qualified to teach English as a foreign language (TEFL) and now want to gain in experience giving conversational classes on italki as a Community Teacher. I am a native English speaker and do not have any definable accent.

I have a B.A in English language and two master's degrees, one in peace and conflict studies and the other in politics. I've worked as an English tutor for 4.5 years- 2 years in the US and 2.5 years in Germany. I can teach beginners as well as advanced students. Students who are at least 10 years old are welcome. I have been an English and Spanish teacher since 2007 and I have worked in several private and public institutions. I have a bachelor’s degree in English and Spanish teaching from Universidad Pedagogica Nacional and I am currently living in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where I work as an English teacher. I taught English to college students from 2008 to 2015, and I also taught English literature and directed a few language immersions at the universities I worked at. From 2015 to 2018, I lived in Washington DC and worked as a History/Spanish teacher at a bilingual multicultural school where I had the chance to teach students not only from the US but also from Central America, Africa and Asia.

I have studied foreign languages and literatures at university and on my own. I studied at schools and universities in Russia, Malta, Norway and Kazakhstan, so I know differences in educational systems in different countries. I can speak Russian, English, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese and some German, Norwegian, Hebrew, Arabic, Kazakh and Chinese. I have been tutoring students for ten years. I am a patient teacher and love helping people.

Teaching gives me a great sense of passion and I really enjoy seeing my students improve in language skills and they can use the target language to communicate with the people of other countries and learn about their cultures. I have a great interest in learning other languages which also gives me an insight into different cultures. I would very much like to teach English and enable students to gain an insight into the English culture, so that we can better understand each other. I am a professional teacher, and I have a TEFL qualification, so I understand how English should be taught to those whose mother tongue is not English, yet have not had the chance to put those skills to use. I also love teaching British English, so I run classes specifically for learning British sounds and combinations.
