I am a native Arabic speaker and advanced English and Turkish speaker as I studied my whole primary school in an English school and I am living and studying in Turkey. I teach Arabic, English, and Turkish I and I am more interested in giving private lessons, but for italki i would like only to focus on teaching Arabic and Turkish. In terms of teaching materials, if you have a specific book you would like to use, I would be happy to teach you from it. Otherwise, after an initial lesson I will be able to gain a sense of your needs and I will provide you with the appropriate materials. I can also record the lessons and provide you with audio or video files that you can use to study after class.

I believe the best way to learn a language is to love it. Yes, I learned English and Turkish this way. I started teaching Arabic by volunteering at Small Project Istanbul (SPI), an NGO which helps displaced Syrians in Istanbul. Many volunteers at SPI were interested in learning Arabic and I was a perfect match for them. They encouraged me to become a teacher as they believed in my teaching methods. That was the reason I began teaching on Italki in February, 2017. I am an easy going, flexible teacher. I enjoy being a community teacher because I prefer conversation to grammar which is why I am also working at Conversations Unbound: an NGO that connects students from America with Arabic.

Although I am native speaker of both Levantine Arabic and Modern Standard Arabic, I will be primarily giving lessons on Levantine Arabic, either conversation practice or grammar, as it is what I have experience teaching and feel more comfortable with. I started my teaching journey during my second year in engineering school, six years ago. Used to meet with fellow students at the library where I explained to them things that they could not understand in class. So I started giving private one to one sessions to University students in math and physics. I taught these subjects for three years up until I graduated. After that, I became a freelance tutor in Arabic Language and I have been helping people speak Arabic for the past three years.

I have learnt English since I was a child and 3 years ago I started to learn Turkish. Being able to learn two languages other than my native in different periods of my life helped to know where to focus and find the most useful ways of teaching Arabic. One of my best skills is that I have a good talent of explaining Arabic and cultural terms to my foreign friends.

I have graduated of the Faculty of Commerce, specializing in Management and Economics from Ain Shams University, Egypt So I can teach you the language related to business or public language or to prepare for your exams or whatever your goal of learning the language we will work together to achieve it.

I work with them on developing a course for teaching Syrian Arabic dialect • Conversations Unbound: an NGO that connects students from American universities with Arabic tutors. I work with them as a board member as well as a tutor.

I am kind, patient, understanding, and slow. I make sure the student is smiling by the end of the lesson and that she or he feels comfortable at all times. I have many educational materials and interactive technology programs, to keep students active and enthusiastic throughout the lesson.

To be honest, teaching Arabic isn't my major which I have a Bachelor's Degree in Dentistry. However, firstly, I'm an educated native Arabic speaker and I have been teaching Arabic (MSA + Levantine) to foreigners for more than two years and I today I have a great experience in helping foreigners to speak this language. Secondly, I've been studying Arabic since I was 4. Which, in Syria, we study Arabic in reception, primary, middle, high school, and even in tertiary education, In which Syrian universities are the only universities in the world that teach Medicine or Dentistry in Arabic. I created my own podcast (Alhasan's Arabic Pod) where u can learn many useful things in MSA & Levantine.
