I graduated from Padua University in Classics in 2013 and started working after few months in a private school in Padua as a teacher for Italian as a second language. After one year I decided to specialize in the field of teaching languages and I had a Masters in Advanced Planning for teaching Italian to foreigners. I also had a second-level DILS-PG certification and I’m a CILS and CELI examiner. I’ve been working as a contract teacher for the University for Foreigners of Perugia for 2 years. I'm currently working for them in Milan at the European Institute of Design, where I prepare Chinese-speaking students for the admission exams for design courses.

The focus of my lessons for all ages are very much on reading and understanding Latin. For adults, we definitely tabulate the language thoroughly, but it is*always* in a meaningful context, and only after we have encountered the structures in question in an actual Latin reading passage. My lessons for children are conducted in a non-threatening environment. The aim of the lessons is to help students learn Latin as a language, rather than as a series of rules to be memorized. They focus on reading and reading comprehension, and allows the students to both learn Latin in a meaningful way and have fun at the same time.

I am an empathetic teacher; whatever you're learning, I hope to make you feel at ease and confident that you will grow with practice. I work with students to set learning goals and discover the best methods of working towards them. I am knowledgeable and enthusiastic, and I love to talk about history and literature while we learn the language!

Hello everybody. My name is Ivana. I am from Serbia. I know it might be "not so much attractive" to hear that someone is from Serbia or another Balkan country but the best thing about this is that I can teach you serbian, croatian, bosnian, montenegrian:-). I would say these languages are all the same with small regional differences and it is a kind of political issue that we all call it differently. I know that many people prefer native speakers, but it can sometimes be tricky. The native speakers are good teachers only if they are foreign langauge teachers, believe me. I also teach latin and italian so I think I could be a good choice for you:-)

As a teacher, I have experience teaching both adults and children. I started teaching in 2005, with an English as a Second Language program in France, and since then I have spent more than a decade teaching at the university level in the United States and several years teaching younger students at the K-12 level, primarily in middle school and high school. Currently, I have students as young as 9 years old all the way to professional adults who are interested in language lessons.

I have enough experience to help you get into the ancient Greek culture and to help you learn the Greek language, which for some people is a bit complicated.
