Ich habe in Bremen über sechs Jahre als eine professionelle und zertifizierte Lehrkraft für Deutsch als Zweitsprache gearbeitet. Durch meine Lehrerfahrungen mit vielen Menschen aus aller Welt habe ich genau verstehen können, wie und womit man am besten deutsche Sprache lernen kann. Ich versuche dabei, die besonderen Lernschwierigkeiten von Lernenden genau zu analysieren und zu verstehen. So kann ich die Lernenden am besten motivieren, indem ich mit deren Schwierigkeiten und nicht zuletzt deren Stärke einfühlsam umgehe.

It is very helpful to understand German grammar well, but it is the practical application of the rules that really leads to swift and lasting progress. My lessons are therefore designed around getting you to speak, read and write asap. I will help you to understand the HOWs and WHYs of German grammar in ways that are practical and will make you a more confident user of the language. We will also make sure you are using the language well, not just correctly. Beauty and formal quality matter a lot. If done in this way, learning German needn't be as difficult as you may imagine or have experienced in the past. It can – and should – be a luxury that you are motivated to indulge in frequently.

I have been teaching German for 20 years and I have tutored people from all walks of life and age, ranging from university students to corporate executives. I tailor your studies to fit your unique learning style and I am happy to accompany you on your journey to learning German. Meeting people from all over the world inspires me. That’s why I studied English and French in an interpreter school and attended classes in Japanese and Arabic. This taught me the challenge of learning a language. Before we start with the lessons, I will evaluate your current level and your goals with learning the language. I will also find out what kind of exercises and assignments you prefer, as I am well aware, that every student needs a different approach. I am a very patient teacher with a good sense of humor who is convinced, that it´s a lot easier to learn a language while having a good time. I encourage my students to talk, give them a learning structure and also make them confident to use the language. I also prepare students for exams and give them homework, if they want. I see myself more as a German language coach (rather than a teacher) to set individual goals and to get the best out of every student. In den Jahren 2015/16 habe ich eine zusätzliche Ausbildung zum Trainer für Deutsch als Fremd- bzw. Zweitsprache gemacht. Ich habe dann zuerst in Österreich Deutschkurse für Asylwerber abgehalten. Seit 2016 unterrichte ich zunehmend auch im Internet. In 2015/16 I completed additional education as a trainer for German as a foreign or second language. Then I first taught German for asylum seekers in Austria. Since 2016 I have been teaching more and more online.

I have been teaching many students for three years, so I have already some experience in teaching. I am a very patient teacher. It is no problem for me to repeat things, which my student did not understand. I hold an MA in International Communication, an MA in Didactics, two BAs in Translating and Interpreting and a CELTA (Certification in English Language Teaching to Adults).

I would love to know about topics that interest you and consider them in my preparation of the class. 3) Speak as much German as possible: You have to get used to the structure, the sound and the rhythm of the language. I believe learning should be fun. I´m not a professional teacher but over the years I got quite a few opportunities to teach German and English for fun (sometimes, in Myanmar, for example, also for cookies...) and every single time it was a very special experience. My work as a teacher includes teaching groups, kids and private students and preparing them for exams from beginners to B2. Some of my students want to improve their skills in order to study in Germany or a German-speaking country. Others need to improve their language skills because of their work in a corporate environment. My classes focus on language skills, such as fluency for professional and private settings, preparing for job interviews or presentations, and dealing with all kind of real-life situations the students may face.
