I try to understand the student's rhythm. Years of teaching have shown me that simply applying a methodology where the student himself deduces the grammar of the target language, does not always work. I still find students who ask me for verb lists to be read and memorized! Therefore, I try to mix the current methodology, where the student, little by little, deduces, feeling the internal rule of the language, as well as a little repetition and exercises for the crystallization of the contents. I had experience with different ages, however, lately, I have been teaching more to an Asian audience, which made me rethink all teaching methods used until then.

I majored in French and Slavic linguistics (Russian and Czech) but I also have a C2 degree of the Goethe-Institute in German. I have taught French, German, Russian and Czech for about 20 years and I can offer you a big variety of teaching methods and materials. As I am a passionate language learner as well, I know how difficult it is to learn a foreign language. I am a very patient teacher: I adapt my teaching methods, speed and style to your preferences, interests and needs. I use to teach internationally, so I have a very flexible timetable, teaching early in the morning, late at night as well as on weekends, holidays and during Christmas, Easter and Summer leaves.

I customize the classes for every student depending on their levels, their needs, their interests and their objectives. I meticulously prepare each class using adapted and certified educational materials that I select for each student and I constantly offer extra exercices and activities as homework in between classes upon request from my students. I offer not only general French classes, but also conversational classes for intermediate and advanced levels. I also offer French exam preparation courses for students who are planning to take the DELF or TEF exams.

I am skilled in teaching French and Arabic. I am able to make a conversation with the students by explaining to them how to speak well the French language and the Arabic language.! I have a great experience of teaching French as a second language and I have taught a lot of students how to succeed in DELF exams from level A1 to level B2. During all the years that I was teaching, I had students from all ages and from different cultural backgrounds and I should say that I learned a lot from all of them and I am grateful for every single moments that I spent with them. I believe in helping you master French as it is spoken/written by actual French speaking people, not textbooks. This means adapting the material and language level to the situation. Indeed, we don’t usually speak in daily life the way a journalist does on the news. And we don’t write a formal report as we would an email to a friend. So knowing your goals and why you are learning French is essential.

I adapt what students need. Then, communication and ambience are first parts that I concern because when teacher and students have good communication and happy, the goal of learning will be achieved.

I have been a dance teacher for 40 years, so that I am sure I love teaching! At some times in the past, I have also given private language lessons at home, but it was hard to fit them into my family life. Now with italki offering online teaching, I am pleased to come back to it. I see teaching fundamentally as a way of communicating. Before starting to instil any skill in my dance students, I try to reach out to each of them and establish the open channel that is key to learning. This is how I am able to teach the difficult technique of classical ballet to complete adult beginners, women and men. Learning a language is no different and I will offer you my complete attention and support.

Je m’adapte à l’étudiant et essaie toujours d’installer une pédagogie ludique et interactive afin que la personne se sente à l’aise. Mon expérience professionnelle m'amène à privilégier les cours avec des adultes ou de jeunes adultes (à partir de 16-17 ans) ayant déjà quelques bases en français (niveau "faux-débutant", A1-A2 du CECR). As a teacher, I really aim to motivate my students to learn as much as they can and to achieve their goals in their target language. I use Paulo Freire's critical pedagogy to connect the student's life and interests to the class's content, sparking meaningful reflections and debates.
