In Korea, I worked as a English tutor since as far as back -10 years ago. And I've been teaching Korean for about a year now. It is my hope that as a 1:1 Italki class, we can set our goals and have our classes personalized based on your specific needs as well as making sure that the class doesn't get boring.

I speak Spanish very well (we speak it every day at home). I speak enough Mandarin Chinese to have a solid conversation. I chat with iTalki Chinese teachers several times a week to practice. As a fellow language learner and a trilingual, I have probably run into many of the same barriers and pitfalls you will encounter while learning your next language, so I can empathize with the many of the struggles you face.

Growing up, I always helped my classmates with English tests and later on I started teaching children in my hometown English. Good communication, good articulation mean a lot to me. No matter how much you know, how much you have acquired, if you are not good at articulating yourself, you rock the boat especially in teaching. As once a great Farsi writer living in this country (Rumi) said "...You can only explain as much as who listens to you can understand." In that sense Teaching is always more than transmitting knowledge. A teacher always represents an identity regardless of different learning settings. Looking upon my student years, teachers whom I admire are not those who perhaps know the most but the ones who could express themselves the best.

As translator and linguist, i know just how to make everything make sense from one language to another, so i can easily turn “difficult” Arabic concepts and structures into a piece of cake. I am a native Lebanese speaker, so besides Modern Standard Arabic (Fusha), I also teach the Levantine dialects (Aamiye). I’m also very interested in learning about different cultures and languages, and through Preply i can teach you about Arabic culture and you can teach me about yours!

I grew up speaking both English and Spanish, and since I was little my friends and colleagues have asked me to help them with either language. Now, I have been teaching languages formally for over 2 years and I worked as a volunteer language teacher in Morocco. I have a TEFL certificate and I teach students of all ages and all levels. I strongly believe that variety is the spice of life! Because of this I like to teach at all levels, because I think everyone has something to offer and to learn. I completed my CELTA training at St Giles International and have been teaching English for over a year now. I'm enthusiastic, attentive, and also very supportive as a teacher. I encourage my students to be confident and independent with their language usage. I believe it's important to make mistakes as these are your opportunities for improvement, but most of all it's important to enjoy your language learning. Finding fun and satisfaction in using your developing skills is where learning flows from best!

Although I have never formally trained in teaching language, I have voluntarily taught Japanese for many years. I’ve attended to language exchange lessons in Toronto and New York and taught Japanese to people from all over the world (e.g. American, Canadian, Russian, Polish, German, Chinese, Korean, Indian etc.) from very beginners to fluent people. I made close friends who learn Japanese and we always asked and taught each other when I was studying English. One of my best friends is an American and he still asks me about the Japanese language even after he moved to Japan.

As a teacher, I love to make students feel confident to speak English with me and make mistakes. I feel that it is essential to not be scared to communicate and express your opinion even if it is a bit difficult at the beginning. I have learned 5 foreign languages myself, that is why I know many effective and fun methods to memorize information and communicate faster! I strongly believe that learning should be a fun process - that is when it is the most effective. I'd like to find out about hobbies and interests as well as your specific goals so that the lessons are as interesting and relevant to you as they can be. It's important for me to get to know your preferences, for example whether you want me to give you feedback continually and correct any mistakes you make at the time, or if you prefer me to give more general feedback at the end of the lesson. I have been teaching English as a volunteer and a tutor off and on for many years. I really enjoy working with and helping Spanish speakers. Everyone has his own favorite art and teaching Arabic is my favorite art.
