As a teacher, I am very patient, relaxed and encouraging. I do my best to be professional in my classes with that extra personal care. Depending on the level and the age of the student, my body gestures and physical responses make the students feel active and focused on my lessons. I love sharing my ideas and opinions but I am also a good listener, open to what the students might want to share. That's why I also find satisfaction in stimulating conversations. I can also be very funny and I laugh a lot, even if there is nothing to laugh about. I am just a happy teacher and I hope I can make my students happy as well.

In our class, YOU will be doing most of the speaking! I provide delayed corrections as well as written feedback and explanations for you to keep and study. I am extremely patient and do my best to create a positive learning environment where we learn from our mistakes. My professional life has always oscillated around working with people. My career and academic choices were fueled by my fascination with human psychology. Thus, while working with people I have always striven for comprehension of human behaviour and the motivational factors behind their decision-making. This helps me understand my students and enables me to react to their needs in a prompt and efficient manner. I'm a very patient person and a good listener. My goal is to help the students progress providing them a very relaxing atmosphere focusing mainly in their subjects of interest so that they can feel comfortable and motivated to talk about the things they like the most, improving their speaking skills at the same time.

After obtaining TEFL Certification from the Language Institute at Chiang Mai University I taught classes at Pro Language Chiang Mai in 2008. I remained there until returning home from Thailand in February of 2009. Since then I have done private English tutoring in Thailand, Mexico, and United States.

Good communication, good articulation mean a lot to me. No matter how much you know, how much you have acquired, if you are not good at articulating yourself, you rock the boat especially in teaching. As once a great Farsi writer living in this country (Rumi) said "...You can only explain as much as who listens to you can understand." In that sense Teaching is always more than transmitting knowledge. A teacher always represents an identity regardless of different learning settings. Looking upon my student years, teachers whom I admire are not those who perhaps know the most but the ones who could express themselves the best.

I have a lot of experience teaching all ages, all levels and a lot of different kinds of courses. I teach General English, TOEFL, IELTS, Business English and Conversation courses. I like teaching beginners because I feel like I can help them a lot with the basics, but I also love working with advanced students because we can have a lot of interesting conversations. I have many teaching qualifications like TEFL, TESOL...etc. but most of all, I enjoy being a teacher.

Languages are my favorite hobby. I study them everyday, and can relate the struggle to improve your skills. In addition to using my language learning experience, I also draw on my previous years of experience teaching different people of different ages and with different English levels. If you are still having trouble understanding spoken English I can help you improve your listening and your pronunciation as well as speak to you in your language, if I speak it, to explain the details to help you learn faster. That said, my main goal is to talk with you in English and make adaptable lessons to help you learn better and faster.

Many of my former students say that I'm patient, dedicated and that I maximize class hours to learning and acquiring English. These traits, I believe, are results of trying to understand my students better. In and out of class hours, I do my best to assess students' needs as learners, and as people who wish to be able to communicate. During class hours I make sure that learning objectives are met and students USE THE LANGUAGE A LOT. Since moving to the Philippines, I have learned what it means to need a new language for everyday life. I know what it's like to understand what you hear and then be unable to respond. I appreciate that an intelligent person, who has a great vocabulary in their native language, may feel frustrated when they struggle to say something in their second language. I understand how it feels to be unable to show your personality because you cannot think of the right words. I want to help every person who takes a lesson from me feel more comfortable using what they know, and I want to be a part of their continued growth. I understand what my students need because I am a student.

I’ve taught kindergarten, middle school, and primary school students in China and on Italki. My youngest students are just three years old! I’ve taught over one thousand adult lessons on Italki, to students with a variety of goals and English levels. My biggest asset as a teacher is my extensive experience. I carefully plan personalized lessons for my students. I’m flexible, and I can adjust my teaching style to meet your needs. I love teaching, because it gives me a chance to be creative.

Teaching is a family profession. Afterwards, I started working very young, and have continued teaching ever since for more than 22 years. I’ve taught various groups: from kindergarten all the way up to post-graduate. A teacher should always study and continue to learn. So through my career I’ve gathered many certificates, diplomas and other documents including TOEFL Test preparation, First Certificate, Advanced Reading, Teaching by Competences, etc. Graduated with a minor in Human Resources, I’ve also studied ESL for business skills like job interviews, accounting, importing and exporting in North America, and customer service.

I am able to develop interesting and relevant courses to suit your specific requirements. I always aim to deliver classes of the highest quality in a friendly and professional environment to help you achieve your language learning goals. As a teacher, I am a team player. I work with the student to determine the appropriate method and content of the lesson. I offer resources as needed, and I continuously adapt to the needs and interests of the student.

I have been teaching English since 1999 and shortly after obtained my CELTA (Cambridge English Language Teaching Accreditation) teaching qualification. I have taught in five different countries= the UK, Spain, Hungary, Vietnam and Malaysia; presently I am living in Budapest, Hungary. My motivation for teaching? There are two reasons why I enjoy teaching; firstly, the feeling of satisfaction when you have helped someone pass an examination, be successful in their career, a job interview or even learn a difficult piece of grammar. Secondly; I love the English language! I love thinking about it and considering the best way to teach it.
