Hello! My name is Serena and I'm 25 years old. I am an Italian native speaker, but I also speak english fluently and I'm currently in the process of learning Spanish. I have a degree in Film Studies and I'm now living in Spain to make a documentary with a team of international people. As my interest in documentary filmmaking might demonstrate, I love connecting with people from different cultures and nationalities and learn from them. I am an easy going, friendly and open minded person. I like talking about several topics like travelling, cinema, philosophy, climbing, cultures, food and many others. I'm always open to explore whichever topic comes up.

Che tipo di insegnante sono

I am a very patient and easy going teacher. I am flexible and can adapt to the student needing. I like to make people at ease, because I understand what it means to be new to a language and not feeling confident in speaking it. To be considered that, since my classes are based on conversational practise, I only teach to students from A2 level. What I usually do is to set up a goal with my student in the first lessons, which can be as different as improving the use of grammar or working on the pronunciation. This helps me to understand the direction to take with my teaching technique, but also helps you to have a clear and concrete objective to reach.

Le mie lezioni e il mio metodo di insegnamento

I truly believe that the best way to learn and master a language come through conversation. I experienced it myself while I was living in Ireland and learning english, and I'm experiencing it now with Spanish language. This is why my lessons are conversational. We can explore multiple topics, depending on the student's interests, and I can also provide some material like articles or video and work on them together. In this way, you will enrich your vocabulary, your use of grammar will improve, and most of all you will start feeling confident. It takes time, willing and a lot of practise, but the satisfaction that comes out of it is invaluable.
