Ciao, I'm Matteo and I am an Italian teacher. I graduated in languages at Ca' Foscari University of Venice and yes, I've been living in the legendary city for three years and yes, it never ages! I' ve been studying English, Spanish and Italian for foreigners for more than 7 years and currently I'm working in schools as an English teacher. My Italian is standard but I can say you can hear a little bit of a northern accent. I'm a sport addicted person, I love alpinism and acrobatics, but my biggest passion is teaching! I'm still a student so i always wonder "how could this be taught in a better way?" My aim is to find the best way for you to learn this beautiful language!

Che tipo di insegnante sono

My methodology is based on the communicative approach, and i really like the situational method, but i am pretty flexible. I like to try different lession plans and models in order to find the best strategy for my students according to their needs and interests. I have been working mostly with adults and teenagers, but I would love to challenge myself in teaching with kids or older people!

Le mie lezioni e il mio metodo di insegnamento

It is hard to describe a tipycal lesson plan, it usually change from student to student according to their needs and aims. I usually like to start with some conversation on recent facts and news, then moving on a focus on a language point (could be grammar or syntax for example) and closing with some exercises to practice what we just studied. I do give homework, especially writing production and langauge exercises, I know that they require some time but in my opinion the language should be practiced both inside and outside the class! I like the Gmeet platform, but I'm also familiar with Skype and Zoom.

In questo contesto mi sono trovato a lavorare con adulti ed anziani in una situazione di pandemia che non ha permesso il costante svolgimento delle lezioni in presenza, perciò ho imparato ad utilizzare le piattaforme online per le lezioni e ho cercato di rendere le classi più coinvolgenti, pur tenendole al PC. Ho lavorato con gruppi di persone e singoli con lingue madre diverse ed interessi diversi.
