I tend to be demanding with my students, but laid-back at the same time. I want my students to make the best, pressuring the students so as they can achieve their goals. I am also very accommodating, adapting my way of teaching and the language of instruction (Italian, English or Spanish) according to the preferences of the student. I am quite honest. This means that I might sound a bit direct sometimes, but when I tell you "your Italian has really improved! You could even have a job interview now!", well, I really mean it. So you best believe it! Being a tutor here on Italki means allowing me to measure your progress in the Italian language. Depending on your goals, I will adapt the content and method of my lesson. I enjoy talking discussing culture, defying unfounded stereotypes about Italy, Italians and the Italian language. Making comparisons and expressing opinions via speaking and/or writing will help us enhance your language skills. In addition to dealing with grammatical issues ,I also like to dive into pragmatics, the actual use of the language.
Last but not least, I always try to make the lesson interesting and amusing for my student.Il mio materiale didattico

An excellent teacher who is very knowledgeable, knows how to explain things in simple terms. He is also very committed to helping his students progress. His lessons are very inviting and one feels at ease to practice speaking.

Giacomo is helpful, patient and can lead a conversation without it getting boring. Has good understanding of the grammar. Can't really ask for more.

It's very hard to find a teacher when you are at an advanced level. I searched for a long time until I finally found Giacomo. He knows the process of learning a foreign language and is always very prepared. I finally feel that my italian is improving.
